Why Gamecube and Nintendo are still worth it

Lately, I’ve heard many comments regarding Gamecube and how it doesn’t match up to the other consoles. All i gotta say is that there’s a lot of confusion going around about the truth about this system. If your going to rule out the cube just because a lot of people have given it a bad rap, than your just all wrong. Before you make an assumption, at least try to back it up with correct facts for god’s sake. The truth of it all is, that no one knows much of anything about Gamecube, so its a little pointless to judge.

I’ve also heard many people saying that Nintendo’s consoles are all for children and such, that they only survive due to the success of Pokemon with kids. It’s a total generalization of a console. In fact, there has been NO confirmation of a Pokemon title whatsoever for the Gamecube. However, there is probably one in the works, but there are so many more games for the cube. There are many companies that work for several systems making the same game, for example the newly turned third party developer, Sega, is developing for Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube, and X-box. This means, that you won’t have to have a certain system to play some games such as Phantasy Star Online, or Crazy Taxi. There’s also no denying that Nintendo has good first party games including the infamous Zelda. (First party meaning games produced by nintendo itself). Nintendo also has a very good second party developer (Rare) which means that the company develops only for a certain system. Rare is responsible for many of the n64’s hits (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark).

Really, all I’m trying to say here is don’t rule out Nintendo. In fact, if you want, buy Playstation 2 or X-box, its totally up to you. Or, if you think I’m just a crazy nut and don’t really care so much about consoles or videogames, don’t buy a console at all. I just think that its only fair to give Nintendo the respect it deserves for being there since the begining. The Gamecube is still worth it, and it will be great, if you give it a chance.
