Side of an Inscribed cube-

mulitply radius of sphere by 1.1547

Side of an equal square-

Surface of a sphere-

square the diameter and multiply by 3.1416

Volume of a sphere-

cube the diameter and multiply by .5236

*The side of a square multiplied by 1.4142 equals diameter of its circmscribing circle

*The side of a square multiplied by 4.443 equals circumference of its circumscribing circle

*The side of a square multiplied by 1.128 equals diameter of an equal circle

*The side of a square multiplied by 3.547 equals circulference of an equal circle

**To find the gallon capacity of tanks (given the dimensions of a cylinder is in inches):

square the diameter of the cylinder, multiply by the length and by .0034.

Rules for Figuring Tapers

GIVEN TO FIND RULE
The taper per foot The taper per inch Divide the taper per foot by 12
The taper per inch The taper per foot Multiply the taper per inch by 12
End diameters and lenght of taper in inches The taper per foot Subtract small diameter from large;divide by length of taper, and multiply quotient by 12
Large diameter and lenght of taper in inches, and taper per foot Diameter at small end in inches Divide taper per foot by 12; multply by length of taper, and subtract result from large diameter
Small diameter and length of taper in inches, and taper per foot Diameter at large end in inches Divide taper per foot by 12; multiply by length of taper, and add result to small diameter
The taper per foot and two diameters in inches Distance between two given diameters in inches Subtract small diameter from large; divide remainder by taper per foot, and multily quotient by 12
