SMITTY-MANIA

[“One more time” is said as the sound of thunder starts to roll and clouds appear on your screen. The clouds flash in areas, suddenly lighting screams out of the sky and we follow it to the ground as it explodes on impact. Everything fades out from sight except the smokes that rises up and makes the word “MANIA”, then dissipates. Now we can only hear a truck as the camera fades in on an empty lot somewhere in Japan. The truck comes into view, a big 18-wheeler with “MANIA SPORTS INC.” painted on the trailer. Behind it a 1988 blue Firebird rides, and behind that a beautiful white Cadillac Mirage Limousine with a license plate that reads “SMITTY”. As the three vehicles come to a halt the scene changes closer to them. The Firebird’s driver door opens and from with in comes Bonez, the manager of EdW’s Tag Team Endust.]

BONEZ: Ya know… EDW is not the home of cowards. Holding events around the Globe means that you must live up to a certain standard to exist. Well someway, somehow, a coward got in. A coward by the name of Jesse Gunn. Almost three years ago I took him out of the ring and ya know what, I haven’t seen “The Knight” since, heh. But still, Jesse, you are out there wrestling. I wanna know why, like you haven’t already been embarrassed enough!? Practically everything you ever made has been taken from you. Money, companies, GOLD! And for me to hear from Mindtrip, a fellow I do keep in touch with, for me to hear that Jesse “The Knight” Gunn is wrestling again? (Slowly starts walking towards the last door on the Cadillac limo) Well bravo my former friend. Former friend, how so you ask? I know we were a team when your greatest possession was being taken from you. But in this business I go with the best. And as it was when we last left off, Bonez goes with the best. So may I present to you, the immortal, SMITTY!

[The back door of the limo opens and a huge cloud of smoke rushes out. Within that cloud, smoking a blunt, out steps Smitty. He puffs on the blunt a little more before flicking it away.]

SMITTY: … If I could teach the world… I would teach the world to be just like me… Jesse Gunn… you are my greatest work. My proudest possession… Those were my words three years ago. There were some before you, and there were many after you, Jesse. Think what you want of that thought, you are no longer the man I once knew. You may have wondered away from yourself, hopefully you will come back and become “The Knight” I made once more. Out of all my soldiers, you were the most fulfilling. And you still are, I couldn’t have imagined a better life for you right now, HA! See, Knight, I decided your future three years ago, not hoping to have gotten as much out of you. I saw that fire in you three years ago, Knight. And I took it from you, right down to the last penny. That’s right, Knight, your fire was money to me. From when you were the Champion of my great EWO to when I took every last cent of your WLW.

And now as your fire kindles quietly, barely awake, I hear through word of my Mania Army that Jesse “The Knight” Gunn is back in the ring. Bonez…

BONEZ: Stop for a moment and calm your thoughts, because you are running Jesse. How do I know? Jesse I am the monster that knocked one too many screws out of you. For it is your friend Mindtrip that has brought Mania back to you… I bet ya never expected to hear Mania out of my mouth, since it was I who stood next to you defending WLW! But the fact of the matter is this, Gunn, you are not even the same man who you were defending WLW. You weren’t even Jesse Gunn. You are what I go to create. ReVoL, what was left of The Knight I killed. Hell how do you think you became “The Revelutionary”? You got revolutionized by The Revolution, Smitty and I! But The Revolution was just a chapter in the book of Mania Sports Inc. Ya see, its not just something Smitty owns. It’s something that many of us have been apart of, but it is too bad that you weren’t around to witness it. That is why Smitty and I sometimes have an opposition on things, such as WLW. But when it comes down to the end, him and me are Mania brothers. Mania is something much bigger than the ReVoL I created!

ReVoL has been killed and all that’s left is Jesse Gunn, yet what you have right now is what it should be. A dream that my Mania brother Smitty and I share, you being tormented by visions we created. Smitty made the big money, I got to make the pay… if you can follow my drift. I want to know where you have gone Jesse, why is the first ever EWO/OSW Champion standing in the rain with crazy thoughts going through his head?! GODDAMN GUNN, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! If my position as manager of Mania in EdW wasn’t so important, I’d lace my boots up again and whoop your ass the way I used to! You think YOU feel like the last of a great line?! Listen Knight, you were the next generation after Mania Sports Inc. A crop of what Mania has created. Smitty and I, along with a few others we know back in the states, are the last of a generation of greatness, you are just a lost soul with out the force that made you, Jesse Gunn, what you are today!

SMITTY: Never surrender Jesse, you are still hanging on. That’s what EWO gave to you, more importantly, what I gave to you. I made the stakes high for you, I gave you power. But the fact remains that “Never Surrender” is the next generation of the Mania drive, and your drive more importantly was fitted to my liking. It is yours to experience, to live, to fulfill. I made you be alive more than you could have ever imagined.

Right now any anxiety you have about the future is an illusion… let it go. Because right now, Jesse, the future is uncertain. Because as I was walking out of filling the last papers for me to acquire one hundred percent of Mania Sports Inc. last month, Bonez had news for me when he came around for the momentous occasion. Apparently, he had been talking to Mindtrip and Jesse Gunn was wrestling again. The same Jesse Gunn who I hadn’t seen in a year since I took WLW right out from under you, and leaving you almost bankrupt! I practically didn’t believe it possible seeing how broken you were when I pinned your shoulders for the sweat one… two… three. But when I saw you I believed it, because I know exactly what your going through. Don’t mistake The True Experts knowledge for empathy, because I have zero. Everyone has the ability to run their own life, but few do. You are completely torn inside because you are running from the horrible memories I have bestoyed upon you.

But why on earth has hell come straight to you, Gunn? Has satan sent a demon in the form of Smitty on you..(smirks briefly).. No, I see a “Never Surrender” fire still their. You may be suffering inside, but you haven’t given up. Well Jesse, like I said, I had the most fun playing with you. Call me sick, but I think it will be almost poetic finally watching you burn out. But I’m not challenging you Jesse, oh no! It is too early. Right now I would just be putting you out of your misery. No, The True Expert seeks more fulfilling work. I want to rekindle the fire, and that takes time… I want to see The Knight one… more… time.

[Smitty turns and looks over at the MANIA SPORTS INC. rig. He smiles.]

SMITTY: Jesse, in Mania Sports Inc.’s nine years of existence it has made three and a half billion dollars. I made most of that money, and now the company is all mine. Inside that truck I have about one million dollars worth of tricks to bring back the Knight. Jesse, the search has started. Mania awaits the return of The Knight.

[Smitty reaches into his pocket and pulls out a phone as Bonez begins speaking. Smitty turns away from the camera as he makes the phone call.]

BONEZ: One of the reasons I am managing Mania instead of taking an in-ring path is because of two incredibly talented men who I am going to bring to the top.

[Smitty finishes on his phone and places it back in his pocket. Bonez continues.]

Kodiac and Saunder, with them I created Endust. The two of them are the next generation coming from Mania, and they are coming along nicely. My own private work I was going to put in front of Endust, but something much bigger has come up. I put Mania in the two of them, and now Mania has called on them to put in their part to better the behalf of Mania.

[Suddenly a black 2002 Mercedes Benz on 20’s rolls up behind the Cadillac Limo. From the drivers side steps out Saunder, and Kodiac on the other. They walk next to Smitty and Bonez, and for the first time in EdW you see all of Mania standing before you. Bonez speaks some more.]

Endust is on the payroll of Mania. When you are apart of Mania, you only know how to be your best. Whenever there is a Mania match going on, no matter whom of Mania is fighting, I am at ringside. I represent the law. Don’t mess with that because if you ask for it, I WILL hurt you! Go ahead and test me if you don’t believe me, I dare ya to…

SAUNDER: Domestic Violence, holla at me doggs.

KODIAC: Seriously, Mania has been in a rush of things over the past week, but Endust has something to tell you, beast to beast. Bonez, plucked us out luck, and gave us the chance to battle with a true tag team like Saunder and myself. We have fulfilled a dream by reaching that level, and therefore you have our respect.

SAUNDER: Fo real, ya’ll got tha PRIMETIME PLAYA’S respect…. if only you knew that journey behind it. We are goin up, and ya’ll deserve some respect for bein at your level, that’s what a TRUE tag team is all bout. Respect, nuff said.

KODIAC: Now that’s behind Endust, we go on to face Points Of Authority. Sorry ladies, but we don’t know who you are. What that means, Endust trains even hard to take on ANYTHING—(cut off by Smitty suddenly)

SMITTY: Endust… I couldn’t sit back any longer. The world may never know, but what you have accomplished to yourselves is all you need. I am the True Expert, and Mania’s mission has been incredibly fast in finishing their mission…

BONEZ: What ya talking about, Smitty?

SMITTY: All the talk about the return of Jesse “THE KNIGHT” Gunn is too late… Gunn you have surprised me. FRIDAY TURMOIL, I am not even supposed to be scheduled to be there. But Mania’s mission is over, Knight, you have done it on your own. It didn’t take my power, it took the final crossing of paths as you reach your full potential. I never wanted you in the ring, Knight, I wanted you to BE The Knight, and you have become that again. Knight, I will be at Turmoil to congratulate you Knight, and to say goodbye to the wrestling world forever…

Corpz, when I was in the ring with you I realized something. What I, The True Expert, have created, Mania, was my ultimate dream. The return of The Knight, who is going to be seen for the first time on Turmoil against you again, was my final work for Mania. I have accomplished too much to get inside the ring and not be the man I once was, I do not do fairy tales. I give you respect for being the man to show me that I have “lost” the drive which makes me The Expert. Close the book on me, you are something coming up big, and The Knight is something stronger from me to you for you to grow.

What does this mean, EdW? It means that Smitty is finished, I have accomplished everything. Mania is leaving EdW, and I will say goodbye one… more… time,… on Turmoil. To the Knight, and Knight, I await your acceptance as I say goodbye, to you, my favorite work. Your are Jesse “The Knight” Gunn.

BONEZ: Ya… Knight…. You know we’ve always been on the same page. I’ll be with Smitty when the goodbye is said.

Points of Authority, you get to say goodbye to Endust in EdW. The tag division is going to go down, because with Endust gone Domestic Violence will never learn the legacy of Endust… but my time has far past to worry about that. So, Authority, tomorrow Mania goes out like it came it, Endust defending the front lines.

SAUNDER: Dats right, fools. Wanna make an impact, guys? Show your cowardy asses and lemme atleast know yo names! K&S is too real for you suckas. Me and Kodiac got lucky enough to be apart of the closing chapter of Mania, Smitty to be exact. He’s there to see Mania take one last victory, dat Endust victory. Tha next GENERATION foo! When have ya’ll eva seen real thugs inside of the business? Neva! That’s what Mania does, and Endust is gonna run you for everything ya worth, FOO!

KODIAC: With Mania over, Endust seals the legend. In six months my bro Saunder and me went from wondering where our next check was going to come from to BLING BLILNGING!

SAUNDER: HOLLA!

KODIAC: So our last match tomorrow, Points of Authority, will be what real playa’s do, bust em dooown! Endust is in the battlezone and it will be K & S to the supreme as we enjoy the riches MANIA has given to us! Tomorrow, K & S Surpeme are platinum Endust, but we are the last stroke of Mania, we are Mania in its last match. We are gone no matter what, but we are going out in a glorious end of a real life legacy. Saunder and I are defending Mania in its end, and we will push every limit until Mania ends the night in glory!

SMITTY: Points Of Authority, my Mania Army is fighting for the last time tomorrow, and they will come at you with the drive that only Mania carries.

Knight, you have fulfilled my wish of returning, you have ended my days happily. Tomorrow at Turmoil, we will say goodbye one…. and for all.

[Bonez pats Smitty on the back, Smitty looks down at the ground with a smile that only a few people are lucky enough to experience the joy. Kodiac and Saunder return to their car, as does Bonez to his Firebird. Smitty stands and stares for a moment longer. He takes a deep breaths and steps back into his Cadillac Mirage Limousine. The scene fades out as the vehicles drive off.]

~~EDITORIAL~~
MANIA SPORTS INC., owned by Smitty, is finally over after almost a decade. A legacy holding men that don't even know what Mania has become. As I(Smitty) look to pass the Mania tourch on, I see that it cannot be. Mania's generation has finally disappeared from the wrestling world when I leave. I start a new job, new house, my life starts now and MANIA SPORTS INC. has finished its job. GOD is telling me that my life is about to start, and I say one last farewell to the business, which strangly enough is what brought me my great future. The computer technology I have learned through this game has given me the tools to persue a computer career, and be filthy stinking rich because I liked to wrestle. My life starts
