Ah, Saturday
Fall has come to the Boston area, and it’s just beautiful! The air stayed crisp and cool all day, and I could wear my khaki pants (the ones that cost $1.07), my Bugs Bunny denim shirt that says "Times Square" and my black linen blazer. I love outfits like that. Sort of a plus size version of L.L. Bean.

Speaking of plus size, I’ve totally blown the diet in the last twenty-four hours, after having been perfect all week, and not falling off the wagon once. Last night it was fajitas (which aren’t THAT bad), but I had a donut this morning (damn Dunkin’ Donuts), and went out to dinner tonight with Dee.
This was really bad.
I had a turkey dinner with all the fixin’s. Really, really bad. The good news is that I felt stuffed and uncomfortable afterwards, which means I’ve adjusted to the amount I’ve been eating during the week, and it’s considerably smaller.
I didn’t drink my water today either. Bad, bad girl! So it’s back on the wagon.
Actually, this is probably a smarter way to do it. I don’t feel deprived by eating what I want to when I go out, and I do feel a bit guilty for eating so much. Maybe I’m finding an attitude balance.

After dinner Dee and I went to Building 19 which is a sort of surplus/discount store. I was looking for a white board to use at school, but had no luck in that department. What I did find were teacher resource books for teaching how to use Windows. They’re meant for elementary kids, but I showed one to Dee (who is just starting to learn how to use computers) and she thought it would be fine for adults. Not too insulting and practical and simple in approach.
I’ll have to go through them more carefully, but they may save me a bit of work making handouts. I believe that handouts are important. Everyone should have something they can take with them and use at home when they sit down by themselves.

I only accomplished about half of what I planned to get done today, which I found to be discouraging. The cat had thrown up in a bunch of different places last night so I spent too much time spot cleaning the carpet.
I was also on a mildew killing expedition in the bathroom. I hate having a shower that has glass doors. They are so hard to keep clean and they just retain moisture and look ugly.
I spent too much time at the computer as well. Not being able to access my e-mail yesterday really gave me a backlog. I’m on way too many mail lists. I tried to read as many of the postings as I could, but they were so intermixed and so scrambled in order that I kept getting lost. I finally just started deleting.
Now I’m hoping I didn’t delete anything important.

I had so many dreams last night that I’m not sure I slept well. I only remember dreams if I wake up after them, so I must have been waking quite a bit. One dream was great – I got a ticket to see the "Lion King" on Broadway (the show I most long to see). A couple were just plain weird and I can’t make heads or tails of them, and one bothered me.
The one that bothered me was about one of the teachers I work with, a male who is several years younger than me. In the dream he started to make innocent, flirtatious passes at me and was hurt when I moved away. (Now in real life he’s happily married – at least as far as I know- and has two cute little kids.) I stopped to explain things to him, but he insisted on sitting very close to me and holding my thumb. Not my hand. My thumb. It was strange. I am not attracted to this guy at all. He’s short (a big turn off), and not very smart and is a poor communicator in general. He’s a nice enough person, but not my type at all.
So why I would dream about him is a mystery, and for some reason continues to bother me

It’s so nice to know I have two more days off. I’m going to try to use tomorrow for schoolwork and bill paying. The challenge will be to not hang on the computer all day.
Monday I’m going to take Mom shopping. I’ll probably regret the commitment, but it seems like the right thing to do.
