Wishing Upon A Star
July 31 As expected
As expected I frittered the day away. But this is not necessarily a bad thing.
I slept until nine this morning, which for me, is like sleeping till noon. Even when I’m on vacation I tend to get up somewhere between seven and eight. It felt good, though. I think I may try to do it again tomorrow.
I did a couple of household type things today, like cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen. I really do have a thing about having a clean bathroom and kitchen. The rest of the place can be a dump, but those two areas have to be clean. Must be a germ thing, even though I don’t seem to give a hoot about that sort of thing in the rest of my life.
Then the computer started calling to me.
All productivity ceased.
I just love playing on the computer. I love reading e-mail from all the lists I subscribe to, (about 6 at the moment), surfing new sites and reading the journals I enjoy. I’d fallen way behind on the journals, so decided I’d try to do some catching up.
A couple weeks ago I’d received an e-mail from another on-line journaler who was nice enough to tell me she was reading my journal. Her name is Treeheart, she’s in Oregon and is a former kindergarten teacher. Of course I immediately went to read hers, but in that she’s been writing since January I’ve got lots of catching up to do. I found that I enjoyed her writing and added her to my list of favorites. Problem is I started falling behind in my reading.
Well today I got back to her site "Observations" and found that I’d been linked! I can’t tell you how excited that made me! So go and check out her site, particularly if you enjoy hearing about what other people are reading. That’s one of the things that she often talks about and that I really enjoy. Of course she reads far more literary worthy works than I do. I used to though.
Really
All that surfing and reading must have exhausted me because I fell asleep on the couch while I was watching t.v. I think it was a quilting program where they were making a vest out of a pair of jeans, but I can’t swear to it.
At least this time I didn’t wake myself up because I was snoring so loudly!
I spent a couple of hours watching PBS programs. One was about an archaeology find in Alexandria that they think might have been the lighthouse (one of the Seven Wonders), and two were on the search for the Titanic. Some days I just love PBS.
I think I should make a list of the things I’d like to accomplish in the next three weeks. I know it’ll be a long one, but sometimes lists really motivate me. There can be a great deal of satisfaction in crossing things off. I think that if I do make lists I should divide it into household stuff and crafty stuff. I really would like to get some stamping done in the next couple of weeks.
It’s also important that I find time to read. That should be a priority.
Then there’s the trip to NYC issue…
I have to force myself to resolve that, Michael or no Michael.
