    1) 4 stages

  • Stage 1-Overseeing the development of the script.
  • Stage 2-Pre-production that changes a story on paper to a 3D ever transforming entity.
  • Stage 3-The production/shoot.
  • Stage 4-Post production.

  • 2) Experimentation-make the medium bend in on itself, entertain the audience but challenge them. Give them an uncomfortable experience.

    3) Great character development-a lot of humanity.

    5) When something goes wrong or gets in your way or doesn't work out as planned don't let it stop you.
    6) When doing a movie, you can get character by thinking about how people in your life act. For example the way your brother acts toward you or toward friends.
    7) Career- uncontrolled lurch downhill-a series of accidents- in a way it depends on how you seize certain moments.
    8) Write a scene and cut the scenes up to see were they fit to make a story.
    9) Think of the movie "Sliding Doors" were if you were to talk to a person an they took you in a direction or if you didn't talk to them and your life was completely different.
    10) Record a script and listen to the characters lines to get a feel for how the movies will sound
    11) Playing a character-What do I want more than anything else?
    12) As a Director-What do I was the audience to take away from this scene more than anything else?
    13) Everytime you do a movie their should be a strong theme and an idea that motivates you.
    14) Tape acting auditions.
    15) Switch endings to get a better sense of character.
    16) Take actor out to eat to get a better sense of who they are. Also builds a good relationship.
    17) Build crew with experience.
    18) Intravision- a special effects optical process that allows you to look through the camera and see exactly what you are going to get.
    19) Gobos- a device that covers part of the lens.
    20) Grifs/Gryflon- a plastic reflective material used with lighting.
    21) Lenshaker- shakes lens to give earthquake effect.
    22) Mix location shots with set shots for best look.
