latest review Kevorkian's Angels "The Sound of Modern Hate"
Basically i'm going to give you a brief description of the bands sound, possibly compare them to and existing known bands so you have a basic idea as to what the bands sound and style is like. I will make an attempt to point out the positive aspects of each band i review as well as any negitive points keep in mind i will not write you off and say you suck unless you are a 3rd rate korn, deftones, slipknot or godsmack flavor of the week style band i'm in a band so i know what it's like to be broke and i understand about bad production due to lack of funding and things such as that just so you know please keep in mind i'm no real writer or journalist basicly i'm doing this to support the true metal underground scene

This is the first label release from Kevorkian's Angels.
15 tracks of pure chaos, this is "the Sound of Modern hate". The
band that has a couple of impressive demo tapes out already has finally moved
up to the CD world, K.A. is a chaotic grind metal band with heavy punk/crust
influence in their approach and style. The CD is raw and rough sounding sort
of under produced but that only adds to the diy style this band has based
is name and reputation on over the years. The songs are catchy fast and abrasive
showing a lot of punk and crust style especially in the vocals, while still
appealing to my metal tastes and standards some of the songs have the hardcore
shout or in K.A. case scream along choruses all in all the CD with its 15
tracks moves very well. The songs order flow great and it kept me interested
and wanting to hear the next song coming up all the way to the last track
"my inner demons" which is my personal favorite on the CD with it's
clever guitar lines intertwining with the bass and drums the song just sticks
in your head for hours after you have listened to it. Pick this CD up you
won't be disappointed this is no disc in the pile but one that'll be in rotation
in my CD player for awhile.
Immolation's Unholy Cult delivers yet another dose of unrelenting brutality,
however that's what separates this CD from most other death metal bands is
that Immolation have a different approach and sound to what they deliver musically,
their sounds and style are very dark and atmospheric the guitars have layered
parts with a sort of fast distorted jazz feel and style to them however this
is a good thing as it makes them unique and stand out from the other bands
of this genre. On this cd the band delivers exactly what you would expect
from them and more, the production is top notch and clear all the instruments,
guitar melodies and vocals are perfectly in the mix. The churning technical
riffs mixed with the pummeling rhythm section and brutal vocals drew me in
after I had listened to the disk the first time I found myself drawn to hear
it again as the CD haunted my senses beckoning me to play it again and again
MALEVOLENT
CREATION
"The Will To Kill"
Label: Artic Music Group
It's not every day you get to see a classic band of this style re-invent themselves, but that's just what you get when you listen to MALEVOLENT CREATION'S "The Will To Kill" CD. While most bands keep trying to recapture their best moments musically, MALEVOLENT CREATION continue to keep things fresh and new and all the while not disappointing their long time fans. This album brings back the raw intensity, speed and great song writing style of the earlier MALEVOLENT CREATION albums like "10 Commandments", "Retribution", "Stillborn", "Eternal" and "In Cold Blood" with the newer sounds of "The Fine Art Of Murder" and "Envenomed". This is also the debut of new vocalist Kyle Symons (HATEPLOW) and drummer Justin Dipinto and the return of bassist Gorden Simms. Rounding out the lineup are guitarists Rob Barrett and Malevolent Creation founder Phil Fasciana. In most cases, the lineup purists, who believe only the original line up is the only one that should exist, should get past the changes and check out this CD. When I first heard of that the new singer was Kyle of HATEPLOW, my first thought was that MALEVOLENT CREATION would wind up just being HATEPLOW or vise versa. But, much to my astonishment they don't really sound alike at all. This is pretty cool to me since more than half of HATEPLOW is now in MALEVOLENT CREATION, yet both bands sound completely different. Check out "The Will To Kill." You won't regret it!
