“Hurry up! We’re gonna be late to get on the bus!” I screamed.
“I’m coming, Sara! These bags are heavy,” shrieked Olivia. How many bags did she bring anyway? Leave it to Liv to bring everything but the kitchen sink.
“Olivia, its two and a half months, not two years,” reproached Nati. She glanced at the five bags Olivia carried and shook her head in disgust. “Olivia, you do NOT need five bags. Pick three and let’s go.”
“No! I need them all! You don’t understand. I need variety when I pick out clothing,” Olivia whined. I should have seen this coming a mile away.
Kate poked her head out of the car taking us to the airport. “ Hurry up, we are leaving now, I don’t care how many bags you have, let’s go now!”
Olivia crammed the bags in the trunk and climbed into the back seat. “When are we going to be there?”
Natalia pulled her headphones and a Limp Bizkit CD case out of her bag. “About an hour to get to the airport, then another five hours flying.” She stuck the head phones around her head.
“Natalia, just answer me this,” I coaxed.
“Shoot.”
“Why do you play our music if you listen to Limp Bizkit and Nine Inch Nails?” I questioned.
“In my world of depression and loneliness, I need a buoy of hope in the sea of despair.” She answered sarcastically.
Olivia gagged on her Orange Juice and shook with laughter. I buried my head in my arms. Kate just shook her head. “We’re sorry we ever asked.”
SCOTT
Dave jumped out of the car that had taken them to the tour bus. I picked up my book and stuffed it into my backpack. I stood up and stretched.
“Only half an hour before we meet Nine Lives,” chortled Clint. “I wonder what they’ll be like.”
“I know what they will be like. They will be vivacious, beautiful and totally enthusiastic, of course. They are from the east coast. All girls from the east coast are like that,” I said. And not to mention totally ready to get down on bended knee.
“Right Scott, they are all funny supermodel-like porn stars. In your dreams,” Quipped Bob.
“Remember what they say ‘You shouldn’t mix work with pleasure,’” Dave sarcastically commented.
“Guys get over here! Help us unpack! And don’t think you’re going this whole summer without doing any chores!” Dad yelled from inside the tour bus.
“We’re coming!” Clint yelled, “Well I can see this is going to be a wonderful summer already.”
We all hauled onto the bus and started unpacking. “Dave what’s the matter? Forget your blanket at home?” Clint teased after seeing an upset look on his brother’s face.
“Oh yeah, funny Clint you’re the next goddamn Chris Rock,” Dave said bitingly, “But I can’t find my favorite black shirt ya know the fitted one and I could have sworn I took it out to pack.”
“I’m wearing it Dave,” I said looking up from the magazine I was reading.
“Since when do you borrow my stuff Scott? What has hell frozen over or something?” Dave asked.
“No you’re not that special. All my good stuff was packed and I needed something that made me look good when we meet Nine Lives.”
“You should have known it would have something to do with a girl Dave,” Bob remarked.
“So I’m attracted to the females of this species, unlike you gay ass losers,” I shot back at Bob.
The triplets then bombarded me with pillows, cushions, and anything else they could get their hands on. “Oh come on guys you can do better than that,” I said provoking them.
“That’s it,” Clint yelled as he lunged at me. It only took seconds for the other two to join in the sparring.
“Excuse us,” a somewhat irritated voice came from above us. We all looked up to see the girls of Nine Lives standing over us. Damn, why couldn’t they all be wearing skirts right now? They all looked somewhat as they did in the picture from the article.
“Uh guys, I think we interrupted family bonding time,” The dark haired-girl commented.
“Yeah, let’s wait outside until they’re finished,” another of the girls remarked obviously stopping herself from bursting out in laughter.
“No, we’re uh...finished we were just messing around nothing serious,” Dave said as he blushed.
“You guys must be Nine Lives,” Clint said with a serious business tone.
“That would be us, and you guys are The Moffatts” a girl in a pink shirt replied.
I got up off the floor and smoothed off my pants. “Hi, My name is Scott,” I said, offering my hand.
“No kidding.” Said the Britany Spears look-alike.
“We know who you are. We actually have been following your career for a while,” remarked the shy one.
“Well, you all know us, but we don’t know you,” Dave said.
“Oh, well, My name is Natalia,” said the dark haired one with the freaky clothing. “And this one is Olivia,” she said pointing to the girl in pink shirt with the curly hair.
She pulled the shy, quiet one out from behind Olivia, “This one ready to kill me would be Sara.”
All of a sudden ‘Britany Spears’ popped out . “And I, the man in the moon, do seem to be.” The four girls started laughing. “That would be Kate. And she doesn’t shut up,” said Natalia between giggles.
“Not in this lifetime anyway,” remarked Olivia.
“Hey! Well, yeah, I guess it’s true,” Kate replied.
The four of us boys just stood there looking at each other, not knowing what to make of this crowd. There was Olivia, the obviously star-struck girl with the nicest rack. Then there was Sara, and although she was kinda short, she was pretty and innocent looking. That won’t last for long with us. Then there was Natalia. Words can’t describe Natalia, just that her sense of style was remarkable, she’ll get along well with Dave. And last but definitely not least, was the Britany Spears look-alike. Damn. Hit ME baby one more time.
Just then Dad walked up. “Oh! I see you’ve met already. Well I’m Frank Moffatt. We’re really glad to have you on this tour. It’s really a pleasure.”
“No! The pleasure’s all ours.” Smiled Olivia with excitement.
“Well, let’s show you girls around,” I said.
SARA
The boys led us through the tour bus, stopping to show us everything. I sighed with bordeom. I mean, exactly how many beds can be on a bus?
Natalia nudged my ribs. “Sara! What do you think of them?” She whispered. “This is going to be one fun tour. I felt like a piece of meat being eyed by a coyote,” I snickered to myself. Kate walked up behind us, “YOU feel like a piece of meat. Scott was practically undressing me with his eyes. It was disgusting.”
Clint stopped the tour through the bedroom. “Here is where I get off.” He hopped into a bed-like cubicle and closed his eyes.
“He’s always sleeping,” said Dave with a roll of his eyes.
“Well, he’s not getting any of us to join him,” said Natalia sarcastically. Kate almost spit out her Gatorade.
“Are you ok?” worried Bob, “ Do you need something to drink?”
“No, smart boy, she just CHOKED on her drink,” Natalia retorted with a sigh.
“Oh, right. Let’s look at the kitchen,” whispered Bob with embarrassment.
Olivia came up beside me. “Scott is so hot, and holy too!” I patted her head and smiled. “I don’t know about hot and holy, but I’ve got another H-word for you.”
He turned around to face us. “ This is our spacious kitchen, complete with refrigerator and stove.”
Natalia piped up. “Ok, Bob, I know you want to impress us and all, but come on, it’s a fucking kitchen. I don’t care about a damn kitchen.”
Dave started cracking up. Bob’s ears turned from an already reddish color to a bright crimson. Nati noticed how mean she had been and went up to Bob. “I’m sorry, it’s just that, it is a stupid kitchen and we are really bored. Do you have anything fun to do?”
Scott spoke out, “Well,” he said with a diabolical smirk, “We could play spin the bottle.”
Olivia looked at us with desperateness. But I was not going to play spin the bottle with Scott, I’d like to keep pure for a while or so.
“I don’t think so Scott,” I said.
“I knew I would be too much for them,” He shouted back to his brothers. Dave was looking for a cooking utensil and Bob was still bright red from Natalia’s insult.
Then Natalia did the unthinkable. “Sure, we’d love to play,” Kate glared at her and Olivia sighed dreamily. “We’ll be right back,” and I pulled Natalia into the front of the bus.
“What the hell were you thinking?” I yelled at her. “Scott is the horniest guy I have ever met and you just agreed for all of us to play Spin the Bottle, of all the games to play. Let me repeat the question. What the hell were you thinking?!”
Natalia cocked her head to the side and stared past me at the boys. “I couldn’t take anymore of their cocky attitudes. They fucking pissed me off for a second. I couldn’t help myself. Besides, Liv looks pretty happy there,” I turned around to look at Liv. “Livia is just happy to be in the same room as Scott.” She looked back and me and sighed. “Well there is nothing we can do about it now. We already agreed to play. I mean, what else are we going to do. Try to sleep in our coffins?”
We walked back to the group. Natalia jumped up and sat on the countertop. “Are there any problems?” questioned Dave.
“Nope, everything’s copisetic. Ready?” Natalia answered as Dave smiled at her.
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” answered Kate.
