Scene 1: Country Club(?)
(Michelle, Danny, and Bill are eating at the Country Club--or at least I'm assuming it's the Country Club. I haven't been watching long enough to know!)
Michelle: (Holding up her glass.) To us, starting off in new directions. I'm going to school. You guys are starting new careers. The future is wide open. We can take it in any direction we like.
Danny: Cheers.
Bill: Cheers. Down and further down. So are you still going to get into the music biz with this high school friend of yours?
Danny: Yeah, Jimmy Montoya. Yeah. I think so. (Carmen, Ben, and Peeelar walk in and sit down.)
Michelle: Oh, this is...this is perfect.
Danny: Well, my mother said that she was going to be having a "family" dinner. I didn't know it'd be here.
Michelle: That's okay.
Danny: I told her we had plans.
Michelle: Just as long as she doesn't ask us to join them. (Oh, like that'll ever happen.)
Bill: Yeah, well, tere's not much of a chance of that as long as I'm with you. (Camera focuses on Carmen, Ben, and Peeelar sitting down and waving to Danny, etc, etc. Then Hoochie walks in. Focusing on Michelle, Danny, and Bill again.)
Michelle: Family dinner? Since, uhmm, since when do family dinners include Teresa? (Danny turns around to see what she's talking about and the Hoochie smiles at him. I'll wipe that smile right off her face...don't think I won't...)
Scene 2: Country Club
Michelle: So do you think this is another one of those coincidences? (A big fake, exaggerated smile here.)
Danny: Oh, come on. There are no coincidences when my mother's in the same galaxy. You know that. (Ooh...deep, sexy voice there!)
Michelle: Yeah.
Bill: Just so you guys know, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about here. (Do you ever? Oops, did I say that out loud?)
Michelle: The girl sitting with Carmen.
Bill: You mean the incredibly gorgeous one? (No, the other one. You must be talking about Peeelar.)
Danny: (Playfully hitting Bill on the shoulder.) Thanks, Bill. Thank you.
Michelle: Yeah, she's Danny's ex-girlfriend.
Danny: Oh, you mean the dog? (Yes, that one. Hey, if he can say it, then by God, I'll say it!) The...the...no, I didn't even...
Michelle: They were engaged.
Danny: Correction: Our parents wanted us to get married, but I broke it off. (But that would still mean you were engaged to her, no?) I married you, if you remember. (Well, I don't see how she couldn't remember...) You are more beautiful than 1000 Teresas. (True, true.)
Michelle: (A bit sarcastically. Not too much sarcasm, though. Just enough.) Thank you, sweetheart. So Teresa has been living in LA for awhile, and she sort of popped up in Springfield a few weeks ago with some information on an old high school buddy of her's and Danny's, and this guy owns a record company.
Bill: She's the one that got you this connection?
Danny: Mm-hmm, yeah.
Michelle: Yeah. So she sets up this meeting with Danny in LA with Jimmy, and Danny gets to the airport and Teresa happens to be on the same flight.
Danny: Sounds very fishy, don't you think, Bill? (Yes!)
Michelle: And somehow, Ben Warren knew Teresa was going to LA with Danny.
Bill: Ben? What...what is...what? (It's okay, Bill. Don't strain yourself.)
Danny: We talked about this. Teresa's mother and my mother are best friends. I'm sure Teresa's mother told my mother that Teresa was going to LA, and my mother mentioned it to Ben. (Sounds plausible...but, no. I don't think that's the case. Not when Ben's involved. Nope. There's no way that's the case.)
Michelle: Well, unless your mother...I don't know, maybe she was trying to use Teresa to cause us some trouble.
Danny: She--she...
Michelle: She's done it before.
Danny: Well, she can try all she wants. It's not going to happen.
Michelle: Yeah, well, don't worry about that. (I thought she said "You're damn right about that", but closed captioning said "Don't worry about that." Take your pick. Either one works.)
Danny: (Standing up.) Well, I am going to have a little fun, rattle my mother's cage a little bit. I'll be right back.
Michelle: Okay.
Danny: Ladies. (And Teresa.)
Hoochie: Hey, Danny. I've been meaning to call you.
Danny: Yeah, I've...excuse me, I need to talk to my mother for a minute, okay? Excuse me for a minute.
Carmen: Excuse me. (Stands up and walks over to where Danny is.) Is everything alright, Danny?
Danny: Did you know that Michelle and I would be here tonight?
Carmen: What? No. How would I have known that?
Danny: Why is Teresa with you?
Carmen: We're having dinner.
Danny: You been seeing her alot lately?
Carmen: Of course I have, Danny. she's my best friend's daughter. (Yeah, I just hang out with my mom's best friend all the time, doesn't everybody? Uh, no! That's a lousy excuse, Carmen.) She's been gone for a long time and I want to make up for lost time. Honestly, I don't see the problem here.
Danny: No. No problem. Oh, yeah, how did--how did Ben know that Teresa was going to be in LA at the same time I was?
Carmen: (Confuzzed.) Ben?
Danny: Yeah, Ben knew that Teresa and I were both in LA at the same time. How did he know that?
Carmen: Well, I told him. Natalia (Ooh, hey...that's my name! Well, in Spanish anyways...) told me and I mentioned it to him. Why? Is there some secret that I'm not supposed to know about?
Danny: Mm-mmm. No. No secret. No, thanks. Have a good dinner. (Kisses her on the cheek and walks away. Carmen motions for Ben to come over. He walks over to her and she asks him how he knew about Teresa. He told her he's asked her to help break up Danny and Michelle. Carmen's impressed and very pleased, might I add.)
Scene 3: Country Club
Danny: (Frustrated.) She is not.
Bill: Okay, okay, sorry guys, but you're going to have to argue without me. I've got to check my machine right quick. Check on all these job offers that keep rolling in. Excuse me. (He walks off.)
Danny: What--Teresa is not still in love with me.
Michelle: Okay. Okay.
Danny: You know, babe, even if she were, it doesn't matter. Who cares? I'm taken. (And thank God for that!)
Michelle: Yeah, well, don't you forget it...buster.
Danny: Well, I think that we have spent entirely too much time talking about Teresa.
Michelle: I agree. (So do I.)
Danny: Obviously the less time I spend with her, the better. So I think that I should just bail out of this music gig that she set up with me and Jimmy. I'll call him and tell him that I changed my mind.
Michelle: Well, I...I don't know if you should do that.
Danny: Why?
Michelle: I mean, this could be a really good oppurtunity for you, you know? This is something you love to do. It's not the family business.
Danny: You know, and I do hate to blow off how she's been trying to help me. She's been trying to get out of her family business as well. That's why she went to LA, but her father has pulled her back into it.
Michelle: From what I've seen, she doesn't seem to mind.
Danny: Well, it's alot more complicated than that. She doesn't want to stir up her family. And if this thing could work out with Jimmy, it'd be her ticket out of her family as well. If she want that, I want it for her. I want her to be happy, the same way that you want your friends, like Bill, to be happy.
Michelle: I know.
Danny: That's all.
Michelle: I know. I do. I know that.
Danny: Come on. You know how much I love you. You do. After everything we've been through, everything we've shared.
Michelle: You saved my life.
Danny: You saved mine. You have had faith in me, you gave me the courage to change my life. My hands are clean because of you. (My hands are clean, too! Gotta love that Lever2000. That's some good stuff...)
Michelle: I am not jealous of Teresa, okay? I love you. I know you. (Well, I would sure as hell hope so considering the fact that you're married to the man. Oops! Correction: You're married to THE MAN!) I know what we have. (Glad you do, let's hope TIIC know that!) All I'm saying is that maybe we should be careful and watch our backs, because let's face it, we both know who your mother would rather have as a daughter-in-law.
Scene 4: Country Club
Danny: For the rest of the evening, can we please just concentrate on us? Hmm? (I'd like that!)
Michelle: Yeah, and maybe making Bill feel a little better?
Danny: Okay. (The Hoochie walks up.)
Hoochie: Hey, you two.
Danny: Hey.
Hoochie: Hey. I just wanted to say a quick hi, and I wanted to let you know that that band I told you about, Suurge? (Is that a stupid spelling or what?!)
Danny: Mm-hmm.
Hoochie: They're going to be playing at Millenium a little later tonight.
Danny: Oh, cool.
Hoochie: This is the perfect oppurtunity for us to hear them, and if you like them, we'll let Jimmy know and we'll be in the on the deal. So I'll see you later tonight?
Danny: Uhmm, well--
Michelle: Yeah, tonight's fine. We'll be there.
Hoochie: (Very unenthusiastically.) Great. (Starts to walk away and Bill stops her and introduces himself. He starts flirting with her to make Peeelar mad.)
Scene 5: Country Club
Danny: I'll be right back. I'm going to go over there for a second.
Michelle: Why? What are you going to do?
Danny: I'm going to get Bill away from Teresa.
Michelle: Why?
Danny: He's being a jerk.
Michelle: He is not. Look, your sister just broke up with him, okay? Let him ask her out.
Danny: He's only doing that to get even with Pilar. Obviously, he's making an idiot out of himself and she's not interested.
Michelle: How do you know? She doesn't seem to mind.
Danny: Well, I think she does, Michelle.
Michelle: Well, she's doing the same thing to you, chasing after somebody who's not interested. You don't seem to mind. I think you might be enjoying it a little bit.
Scene 6: Country Club
Michelle: Danny, I was just kidding. Come on.
Danny: Well, I hope you were.
Michelle: I was. But I'm going to be watching you like a hawk at that concert so no funny stuff. (Listen to your wife, Danny! NO FUNNY STUFF! That includes dirty dancing with the Hoochie!)
Danny: Not even with you?
Michelle: I think that's a little different. (Getting up.) Alright, I am going to go see how Bill is doing after that. (Walks into the entryway or whatever and the Hoochie is there, talking to Jimmy on the phone.)
Teresa: Hi, Jimmy. It's Teresa. Listen, I need you to find a reason for me and Danny to come back to LA, okay? (Michelle walks up and takes the phone out of her hand.)
Michelle: Actually, uhmm, Danny's going to be busy with his wife. (Tosses the phone up in the air. All I have to say is "YOU GO, GIRL!" Let's see, so how many phones has Manny destroyed/thrown now? What's the count? 4? 5?)
