Scene 1: Casa Santos
(First two scenes take place at the party at Casa Santos. We just get a glimpse of Danny and Michelle dressing, then it goes to Ben and Carmen. I'm including the part of their conversation about Manny.)
Ben: So how's the party going?
Carmen: Well, it's not going as well as I'd like. I invited an old girlfriend of Danny's (Bitch!!!) here to try to stir up things a bit, but she couldn't make it. (Thank God.)
Ben: Who?
Carmen: Teresa. (I swear, if I hear ONE MORE pronounciation of that name...) Beautiful, lovely girl. Danny made the biggest mistake of his life when he broke off that relationship (Yeah, right!), but I still think that she's the one person who can convince him that he made a mistake in marrying Michelle. (Only in your dreams, Carmen. Only in your dreams...Anyways, we see Carmen staring at Danny and Michelle who are dancing.)
Danny: How you doing? Alright?
Michelle: Yeah.
Danny: I know it's not easy for you to be here, in this house, so close, but it means everything to me.
Scene 2: Casa Santos
(Danny and Michelle are dancing very closely, and Danny's really getting into it. It's like they're the only ones in the room.)
Michelle: Danny, Danny.
Danny: What? What?
Michelle: Let's just go. We shouldn't dance anymore. I need to...
Danny: Oh, no, no, no. You do not want to go. I know you don't. (Michelle gives in. Ben walks by and Danny tenses up.)
Michelle: What? What is--what is going on with Ben?
Danny: Nothing. Nothing. It's like I told you. (They stop dancing and Danny eats something. Damn, he looks sexy when he eats...) I'm just, I'm working on getting him out of our lives.
Michelle: What does that mean? Are you doing...Danny, are you doing something dangerous?
Danny: No, but I'd say that Ben is definitely in danger.
Michelle: What does that mean?
Danny: Well, let's put it this way: this is definitely Ben's last party with the Santos family, maybe his last party altogether. You know what? I don't--I don't want to be here anymore. Come on. (Grabs her hand and tries to lead her towards the door, but Michelle is stubborn and pulls him back towards her.)
Michelle: Wha...where?
Danny: Let's go. Let's...I want you to come with me. (Tries to lead her towards the door again, and Michelle pulls him back again.)
Michelle: Why? (Christ, Michelle...just go!)
Danny: I want to show you something.
Michelle: What do you want to show me, Danny?
Danny: Well, you're not going to find out until you come with me, are you? Come on. (Pulls her towards the door, AGAIN, and Michelle pulls him back, AGAIN.)
Michelle: You know...
Danny: What?
Michelle: If I go with you, it doesn't change the fact that we are still at the place we were when I walked in here. You need to understand that.
Danny: I know, I know. Shh, shh, shh. (Kisses her.) I know all of that. I do. Come on. Let's go. (He leads her towards the door and this time she actually goes! Wow!)
Scene 3: Laurel Falls
(They're at Laurel Falls now. Danny is pulling her towards that really big, flat rock where they got married.)
Michelle: Come on, why did you bring me here?
Danny: Just...well, I'm about to tell you. Up here. (They stand on the big-ass rock.)
Michelle: Okay.
Danny: Now, listen. I know that it's very easy for me to get swept up in my family and the business, things that threaten to keep us apart. But here, I think about the times that we spent here, and I know that nothing can tear us apart.
Michelle: Danny...
Danny: And I...hold on. I want to feel this way all the time, not just sometimes. I want to feel it everyday. And now we can.
Michelle: What do you mean?
Danny: This is our backyard. I, uh, bought up all the land around here and, uhmm, I'm going t build us a house. (Danny, don't you think you should've paid back the bonds first? I mean, you owe like $2 million, you know?)
Michelle: (Very surprised.) Oh my God.
Danny: Yeah. So this is...you're going to be able to see all of this from, uh, from our house, and it's going to be just our house. Away from my family and everthing. This was our past, but now it's our future. And it's just ours. (Michelle is speechless and just stares at him in shock.)
Scene 4: Laurel Falls
(Michelle is standing with her back turned to Danny. Danny seems nervous through this whole scene, except for the very end.)
Danny: Look, I know that this, uh, this is probably a surprise. But I--I'm going crazy not being with you, and we need to be together. I know that you're trying to...that you want to carve out a life for yourself, and I totally--totally--support that, and I'm taking care of these problems that are going on with my family. But, whatever is going on with us and in our lives, I think that we need to be together, no matter what. I think we need to be together in our own place, filled with things that are just ours. (Michelle turns around with a smile on her face.)
Michelle: I...(She's crying and laughing at the same time. She hugs Danny and he laughs, too.)
Danny: Yeah? Yeah? I want you to come home to me very, very soon.
Michelle: I already am home. (They start kissing and Danny lifts her up, still kissing, and they giggle. It's so sweet!)
