Scene 1: Outside of Company
(Cassie is talking on her cell phone.)
Cassie: Blake, just calm down, ok? I'm sure--I'm sure Ross will call you back. (Pauses) I know, but just--just give it sometime. Believe me, he's going to call you back. Alright.
(Michelle walks up over to Cassie.)
Michelle: Hey.
Cassie: Can I call you back, ok? Take care. Bye.
Michelle: Hi. Morning.
Cassie: What do you mean good morning? I've been waiting to hear from you all night long. You call me, you tell me you have a plan to help Reva. And I haven't heard from you.
Michelle: I'm sorry. It's off.
Cassie: What's off?
Michelle: The plan is off. I had this great plan to go down to San Cristobel and attend their masked ball in a couple of weeks. I thought that it would be great if we were guests of the Royal Family--actually, friends of the Royal Family because we could've gotten in. Nobody would have suspected us at all, but...
Cassie: Okay, it's great. It's great. You guys go to the ball. You find Reva and you figure out what's going on. And you come back.
Michelle: Well...
Cassie: What?
Michelle: It's not so great. Danny won't go for it.
Cassie: Why not?
Michelle: He thinkgs it's way tto dangerous for us to handle.
Cassie: So that's it? We just, you know, throw the towel in? We just--we just forget about it?
Michelle: No.
Cassie: Danny has a plan?
Michelle: No...I...
Cassie: Okay, so "no" what?
Michelle: We were coming up with a plan and we were almost there and then Jos called for some reason and Danny ran off. I don't know...
Cassie: Without saying anything?
Michelle: Yeah, nothing at all. Something's going on.
Cassie: Yeah you bet something's going on because I was supposed to have a breakfast meeting with Matt and Jim, and Josh calls and they cancel and they have some special project they have to work on with Josh.
Michelle: With Josh, really? A project.
Cassie: I'll bet you anything this has something to do with--
Michelle: Reva?
Cassie: Yeah. Okay. (Starts to leave.)
Michelle: Where are you going?
Cassie: If they're planning something I'm going to be involved whether they like it or not. Are you coming with me?
Michelle: Yeah.
Scene 2: Jeva's Living Room
Josh: Thanks for coming Danny.
Danny: (See's Billy, Jim, and Matt.) Looks like you've got a war council.
Josh: That's pretty much what it is.
Billy: Yeah, why don't you have a seat?
Danny: I've got a feeling that I'm not going to like what I'm about to hear so I'll stand.
Billy: Well, you're going to bust Reva out of San Cristobel. What the Hell's not to like about that?
Danny: I'm going to bust her out?
Matt: We...uhmm...we all are.
Danny: No thanks. You can count me out.
Josh: Danny. Danny. Come on. You haven't even heard the plan yet.
Danny: Five guys are going to invade a country? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!
Jim: Danny, Danny, you haven't heard Josh out yet. the plan is actually doable. (Or is it do-able? I don't know, I didn't even think that was a word!)
Danny: Look, I don't care how doable you think your plan is! Five guys--
Billy: Wait a minute, wait a minute. It's not five guys, there's really one going to be four. I'm going to stay here and hold down the fort.
Danny: Oh, four. Great. Your problems are solved.
Matt: Look, just listen. Just listen to Josh, OK?
Josh: We don't have all the specifics worked out yet. This is basically it. Now I've already showed Matt maps of the island and photographs of the palace.
Matt: Now, I can come up with schematics off of the photos, ok? Jim was a navy Seal, he's more than capable of planning and executing a rescue mission.
Danny: Hey great. You got all of your bases covered. You don't need me.
Billy: No, no. Wait, wait, wait! We're just getting to the good part here.
Josh: This thing doesn't happen without you. See, the whole thing hinges on us getting back into the country and that's where you come in.
Billy: You come in. You and Michelle.
Josh: That's right.
Danny: Excuse me?
Josh: You're a cover.
Danny: Michelle?
Josh: You're our ticket into San Cristobel.
Danny: No way! Forget it, Josh.
Josh: I lay low. I stay hidden. Matt and Jim pose as your business associates.
Danny: They can pose as whatever they want, but I'm not going to be involved in this. And neither is my wife.
Billy: Oh come on, Santos! You owe us this.
Danny: I owe you?! How the Hell do you think I owe you?
Billy: Because you almost got my son, Billy, blown up! (That wasn't Danny's fault!!!)
Josh: No, wait, wait, whoa. Billy, back off.
Danny: (Very quietly.) No...
Josh: This is not going to get us what we want! (No shit, Sherlock!!!) Let's just all settle down. We can talk about this rationally. Danny, all I'm asking is that you get these guys into the palace so they can pinpoint Reva's location. (Now how exactly are they going to do that? With Doppler Radar???) That's it.
Danny: Oh, that's all.
Jim: Yeah and I'll create some kinda of disturbance that weill bring everyone's attention away from anything that we're doing.
Josh: And while everyone's distracted I go in and get Reva out.
Danny: You know what, Josh? It's one thing to ask me to fly you down there and take a risk myself, but you've got alot of nerve asking me to put my wife's life on the line. And I will not do it.
Scene 3: Jeva's Living Room
Billy: Danny, this is Reva that we're talking about. (Uh...so?)
Danny: This is my wife we're talking about as well!
Billy: Oh come on!
Danny: And I won't put her in danger!
Josh: Look, this is not going to accomplish anything, alright?
Billy: (He says this in a very whiny/pouty way, IMO.) But we need him for cover.
Josh: The man (Oh yes, he is definitely THE MAN!) is concerned about putting his wife in danger. I understand that. I understand! Danny, look at me not him. I understand. The problem is you have to understand this. Reva is in this thing. (Again: No shit, Sherlock!) She's trapped down there. I have to get her out and I'm desperate. I am desperate.
Matt: Danny, your family is like royalty down there. You can go wherever you want and no one will suspect anything.
Billy: If we knew anyone else down there...but we don't. We don't know anyone else.
Jim: We need you, Danny. (Ooh Ooh! I need him, too!) We really need you. (Yeah, Jim, we get your point, but you're overlooking the important thing here: I REALLY need him, too!!!) Look, if this plan is going to work we have got to have people on the inside.
Matt: Is it Michelle? Do you think Michelle would have a problem with it? Is that why?
Danny: Oh, no, no. She thinks she can sace Reva all by herself.
Billy: She's always been a brave little girl, see?
Jim: All right, listen, all jokes aside, how did she figure she could do this?
Danny: I--I don't know. She thinks that she could use that San Cristobel ball as an excuse to go back to San Cristobel.
Jim: A masked ball? (Now how did he know it was a masked ball???) Hey you know what? That's perfect. We've been going back and forth on the timing and how to stage a rescue. Josh this could work. It really could.
Josh: A masked ball?
Jim: Yeah.
Matt: Dozens of people running around? In masks?
Danny: Hundreds, actually.
Matt: Hundreds? That's even better. That's going to be even easier to get Reva out.
Jim: Yeah, hundreds of people milling around. Listen, listen Josh. Matt could help you get into the palace grounds. I could create some kind of explosion outside of the party and in all the chaos and confusion...Everybody's confused. (No, ya think? Usually when there's confusion, someone's confused!)
Josh: They wouldn't know what hit them.
Jim: Exactly.
Matt: Or who.
Josh: I think Michelle's plan is a good one. What do you say?
Danny: Guys, you think you can just sneak into a heavily guarded palace, grab Reva, and somehow get your way out?
Jim: Yes.
Danny: Without getting killed?
Billy: That's what...
Josh: Reva and I have had stuff thrown at us since the beginning of time. Our entire lives, we have had stuff put in front of us and have had to push through them. (Hmmm...sounds just like someone else...oh yeah, Manny!) That's what we're going to do this time, too. We're going to push right through.
Billy: Danny, it would be a whole lot safer with you on board.
Josh: Danny, Danny. Let me tell you something about yourself. (Danny kind of half laughs.) Danny Santos, a good guy, flew me down to San Cristobel before. Now you did that because you wanted your name and your family to stand for something more. You told me that yourself. Now whatever you decide tonight, whatever, whether you're going to help me or not, don't forget that. Don't forget it.
(Cassie and Michelle enter.)
Cassie: I knew it. I knew it. I knew you were going to try and cut me out of this. Go there and rescue Reva on your own. Let me tell you something Josh. We are not going to let that happen.
Michelle: We're not going to sit around while you guys rush off--
Danny: (Cutting her off.) Michelle! Michelle.
Michelle: What?
Danny: We're going to go to San Cristobel.
Scene 4: Jeva's Living Room
Danny: (Sighs) It turns out that they think your idea is not such a bad one.
Michelle: My idea? (You can tell by the tone of her voice that she's obviously enjoying this. Kind of like a "I told you so" voice.)
Danny: The masked ball.
Michelle: Oh?
Danny: Josh has worked out a plan.
Matt: A big celebration like that might be just the thing to get Reva out.
Michelle: Hmmm...That's really interesting. Can I talk to you for a second? Excuse us. (Leads Danny away from the others.)
Danny: Excuse me...What?
Michelle: Did you apologise? I'm sorry, I didn't hear you.
Danny: No, I would never be sorry for wanting to keep you safe.
Michelle: No, no, for not listening to me and for treating me like a defenseless woman with no mind of her own.
Danny: I didn't. I...okay, I'm sorry. I am sorry about that.
Michelle: Listen, I understand that you were doing that because you love me and care about me...and I missed you last night.
Danny: I missed you.
Scene 5: Jeva's Front Porch
Michelle: So what's out here?
Danny: Fresh air. Privacy.
Michelle: Privacy so you can tell me what?
Danny: We're going to take the yacht to San Cristobel.
Michelle: Mm-hmm.
Danny: Which means that my mother is going to have to be dealt with.
Michelle: Right...I hadn't thought about Carmen. Actually, why don't we tell her the truth. (Danny kind of rolls his eyes.) Or not...bad idea. Ok...
Danny: Look, we know that she and Edmund are up to something that neither of them wants to share with me and she could blow this whole thing out of the water before it even gets started.
Michelle: So what are you going to do?
Danny: (Sighs) I don't know. I'll come up with something.
