Scene 1: Casa Santos
Ben and Carmen in office. Danny enters.
Carmen: There he is.
Danny: Here I am.
Carmen: It's no nice to see you. We've been missing each other left and right. And I've been so busy.
Danny: It's easy to miss each other when you're out of the country.
Carmen: Excuse me?
Danny: I saw you in San Cristobel. At the palace, having a very cozy conversation with Edmund. I thought the two of you couldn't stand each other.
Carmen: I don't know what you're insinuating Danny, but...you do understand how this family operates?
Danny: Yes, yeah I do.
Carmen: And you do realise that we have certain various interests in that island?
Danny: I realise that.
Carmen: Well, I was there on business. And as far as Edmund is concerned, we've settled our differences.
Danny: Really?
Carmen: Mm-hmm.
Danny: Good.
Carmen: What we really should be discussing is what were you doing in San Cristobel? And if you did see me, why didn't you say something?
Danny: Well, I was uh I was in a rush, I had to get back home.
Carmen: Oh really? You were so busy you didn't have time to say hello to your own mother?
Danny: Ah...no. Michelle has some friends who ran into a little trouble. So I flew in to see if I could help them out.
Carmen: I see. You jump when it comes to Michelle's friends, but when it has to anything to do with your own family you couldn't care less?
Danny: Oh come on Mother. You know that's not true.
Carmen: No, I really believed that this family was coming together and that we were truly beginning to trust one another again, but I see that's not the case.
Scene 2: Casa Santos
Danny: Mother, please don't insult my intelligence by attempting to turn things around on me.
Carmen: I don't know what you're talking about, Danny.
Danny: Oh, you don't? Look this has nothing to do with choosing sides between families. You know it and I know it.
Carmen: Well then honestly Danny, tell me what you were doing in San Cristobel.
Danny: Well, it's a...it's a long story.
Carmen: I have plenty of time.
Danny: Well, I don't so I'll be brief. Reva Lewis is involved in a deeply personal matter with the Royal Family. Edmund didn't mention this to you?
Carmen: No, why would he?
Danny: Well, now that the two of you are such good friends, I...
Carmen: I was there on business.
Danny: (Sarcastically) Well, at least you're not being evasive.
Carmen: You know what I think you should do, Danny?
Danny: No, Mother, what's that?
Carmen: I think you should concentrate on your own family and stop trying to save the world. (Danny laughs.) Do you think that the Lewis' would come to our aid, or the Bauer's for that matter, if we were in any kind of trouble?
Danny: We're always in trouble. They'd have to be watching over us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Carmen: That's not the point.
Danny: You're right. There is a huge difference between those people and us. Look, you made a promise to me and Pilar that would would assist in changing this family and I expect you to fulfill that promise.
Carmen: And so you should.
Danny: Michelle and I want our future children to grow up in a family that they can be proud of, you understand?
Carmen: Oh you mean like uhh your new special wonderful friends Michelle has brought into your life?
Danny: Yeah. Just like them. (Danny leaves.)
Scene 3: Honeymoon Suite
(Michelle is laying on the bed, holding a pillow. Danny walks in.)
Danny: Hey.
Michelle: Hi.
Danny: Hi Sweetie. How are you feeling?
Michelle: Much better.
Danny: You look like you're feeling better.
Michelle: I am. I think it was just like one of those 24 hour bugs, but uhmm...
Danny: Good.
Michelle: I'm fine. Don't worry about it.
Danny: Well, I always worry about you. Are you kidding?
Michelle: That's sweet. Have you talked to Josh at all today?
Danny: No. Hey where were you today? I tried calling a couple of times to see how you were feeling, but Olga said you were out.
Michelle: Uh yeah. I--I went, well uhmmm, I...I was...Oh, I can't do this.
Danny: What? Do what?
Michelle: Uhmmm I was at the hospital.
Danny: The hospital?
Michelle: Yeah. I was...
Danny: (Excited) I knew it. I knew it, I knew it!
Michelle: What??
Danny: Feeling queasy and dizzy. Oh my God. You're pregnant aren't you? (Hugs Michelle, she looks shocked.)
Scene 4: Honeymoon Suite
Danny: You are, aren't you? You are.
Michelle: Just because I was at the hospital doesn't mean I'm uh...I...I'm not pregnant, Danny.
Danny: (Clearly disappointed.) Oh. You did go to the hospital though. Why?
Michelle: Yeah. I was kind of like helping Cassie. Kind of like how you were helping Josh.
Danny: What do you mean?
Michelle: Well okay. Cassie wants her sister back, and so she came up with this plan where she would pretend to be sick, and they we would get the word to Reva so she would want to come home. And I just figured since the Santos are really good friends with the Royals that it would be a good idea to put the call through and let them know that Cassie was sick...
Danny: Oh, wow.
Michelle: End of story.
Danny: Yeah, you're a very good friend to those people.
Michelle: Yeah, uhmmm...back to this pregnant thing for a second. You kind of jumped to that conclusion pretty quickly. How come?
Danny: Well, you know, we're only been making love every minute for the past month.
Michelle: Yeah...
Danny: And we haven't been doing anything to prevent you from getting pregnant so I...
Michelle: You're so wonderful. I love you so much.
Danny: I love you.
Michelle: Uhmmm I--I should probably tell you...well, I have been taking precautions. I'm on the pill.
Danny: You are?
Michelle: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I thought that you knew. I assumed that you...
Danny: Nope. No, no Michelle. I didn't know.
Scene 5: Honeymoon Suite
Danny: Why uhmm...I guess I--I assumed too much.
Michelle: No, it's not your fault at all. I'm sorry, I'm...incredibly sorry.
Danny: I just got excited. You know, when I thought that you might be pregnant.
Michelle: Hey. Do you know how much that means to me? That means so much to me that you want...You know, It's just that I hadn't really thought about having children at all...yet...
Danny: You haven't?
Michelle: But I--I, not that I don't want to have children with you because I do.
Danny: You sure?
Michelle: Yes. I'm sure. Yes, I'm sure. I mean when I think about our future together, I think about what it's going to be like with our kids you know and how much fun it's going to be. It's just, right now, you know, with your...your mother, and your family, and...uhmmm, I don't want to hurt you here...
Danny: You want to wait until it's safe. Until that uhmmm...a time when our children can be part of a family that they deserve.
Michelle: I'm sorry.
Danny:: No, it's alright. I want that, too. I do. I just...I want a family with you so bad, but I want it to be as perfect as it can be and I just want it to happen sooner rather than later, you know? I swear to you, the Santos name will be clean. It'll be clean for our children, and for our children's children. I promise.
Scene 6: Honeymoon Suite
Danny: So I uhh...I talked to my mother about San Cristobel.
Michelle: You did?
DAnny: Mm-hmm.
Michelle: And what did she have to say?
Danny: She says she has nothing to do with Reva.
Michelle: Okay, do you believe her?
Danny: Look, there are two people that I can trust right now: you and me. (What about Ray? Don't forget him!) We're going to turn this family around, Michelle. If my mother wants to join us, fine. If she doesn't, well she's on her own. I told her that.
Michelle: Do you feel like we can just conquer anything together?
Danny: Yeah, I do,
Michelle: You know what? When it's time for us to start a family, we are gonna know. We're gonna know.
Danny: Yeah, we will. And in the meantime, we can just uh...dream.
Michelle: And...practice. (Giggling. They kiss. Can we say TONGUE?? HELLO! Major tongue! Even HollyJo admitted it...wow. If you've never been to the Manny Talk message board then just forget that last statement.)
