10: Go!Zilla Free
Now this is a download manager. I prefer it to the download GetRight, and so does CNet. GetRight didn't even make the top ten. It has options with bandwidth, searches with filez.com to find other locations with the download, easy for surfing the web at the same time, and even resumes your connection after you lose it! I really like this.

9. Netscape Communicator
Evidently, it does have much more features than IE. Definetly deserves awards for itself, but this causes a few problems. It isn't as fast. It does have some bugs. Better security, though, and not as many bugs.

8. CuteFTP
Never tried it out. I should, even if it is shareware. Drag and drop interface, resumes downloads, browses ftp sites, transfers entire directories at once, schedules transfers for later, lots of stuff.

7. Internet Explorer
The best browser. Netscape got worse when they added the new features in. Well, in this browser, it is much faster, and loads pages more quickly. Microsoft finally placed a password form completion called AutoComplete in it. Then, of course, you can listen to tunes while you surf with something else. Except for security, there are less bugs here than Netscape, some of them are the same. The only bad thing, is, say for example, I am using this editor. Then I press preview. If I go back, IE would reset this form to the last saved version! Oh, by the way, IE supports more HTML tags, so if you view a Front Page made page with Netscape, it probably won't work. Anyway, that's it.

6. Netzip Classic
Okay, so you usually think WinZip has much more features than anything. Wrong. Netzip is awesome, according to them. Features just like Gozilla Free's features of pausing, resuming, and reconnecting downloads. Easy to unzip and zip. Supports ZIP, EXE, TAR, ARJ, and LHARC formats. You can convert zips into self-extracting EXE files. And last, but not least, it treats ZIP files as Windows folders. WOW!

5. Sonique
One of the best music/sound players in the world. Supports many formats. Awesome, everything is animated, great setup of playlists, supports skins, fool around with the music, tons of features. I mean TONS. Plug-ins, and a very cool looking program. No window. Some say it's better than WinAmp, which it probably is....

4. Webshots Desktop
Changes your wallpaper every day of the year. It's now freeware. Doesn't sound like much? Then why did 6 million people download this?

3. Winzip
Well, CNet doesn't like it as much as NetZip because it doesn't have as many features, and this is shareware. It's easier to use, though and takes up less disk space (about a half MB less). The trial never ends. Netzip, though, is much better, but harder to use. Make your choice.

2. Winamp
The best Mp2,Mp3 player. Made by a university dropout, this became the most popular Mp3 player (and more) on the web. Equalizer, playlist, internet, Windows Media Player support, what else do you need? It's free! Plugins, skins. Won the 1999 Shareware Industry award for Best Sound Program/Utility.

1. ICQ
Everyone knows this instant messenger. The features, the ways, the coolness... the popularity (almost 80 million downloads)....
