Free Web
Hosting!

A
list of places to go for absolutely free web hosting. I am at
Angelfire.
Angelfire (5-30
MB)- Very impressive with not-so-complicated page-creation and excellent
speed, not to mention easy advanced editors where you can preview your page.
Problems are, though, that you have to put a banner on your page or the annoying
popup banners will come up. That's why I considered PopOff... And, the basic
editor templates are not good.
Crosswinds (unlimited space)-
Impressive deal with no banners or popups and unlimited space. Problems:
- It's very hard to find out where to edit your page.
- No basic editors.
- Very confusing ways of uploading.
- You can't preview your page.
- Doesn't even tell you what it recognizes as your main
page!
Tripod (10 MB) They
have a lot of stuff, the templates are much better, it's easy to upload your
files, you've got lots of features, and it is very professional!
Problems:
- Javascript didn't work with Netscape.
- Pop-ups, banners, y'know,
- Too much stuff you don't know where to go!
- How will people find your page? There's too many members!
- Confusing...
- Slow loading time.
- You can't find a place to delete your site.
Red Rival (20 MB)- The best. Red Rival
has everything you need. No popups, banners, or any of that stuff you don't
want. Fast loading time. Great features. Go there now if you want luxury.
Problems:
- Very picky on what you have on your site (due to warez and that
stuff)
Internations (20
MB)- My future web host. No popups, banners, or anything, offering
hosting for different countries. No problems!
Geocities (15 MB)- They used to stink because of their popups, but now they are better than ever because they offer short URLs, the additional 4 MB, and the ad is a watermark. (a little square ad stuck to your page that you can close on the upper-right hand corner) They have really improved! Problems:
- Loading time...
- Info given out by you.
Spree (unlimited space)- Spree is a place to sell, earn money, make a store, and promote. If you want to earn, go here. Guestbooks, page counters, HTML guide, and a great directory manager. Problems:
- You have to put a banner on your page.
- They didn't say anything about a basic editor...
XOOM (unlimited space)- Xoom looks like a GREAT deal when you go to their site to get hosted. Unlimited space! Tricksters, though:
- They DON'T allow unlimited bandwidth (main trick)
- They display this little bar on the top of your page
- Very sloowwwww.....
- They bombard you with tons of mail every day and with lots of useless offers...
Fortune City (20 MB)- Okay. This site has too many problems, but lots of news, so...
- Very long URLs (www.fortunecity.com/whatever/long/9914/forgetit.html)
- Javascript NEVER works for Basic Editor
- Not Netscape compatible
- Complicated editors
- Just plain dull...
- How the heck will people find your site?
Areal City (20 MB)- I haven't found out much about this, but they have no ads, 20 MB, shorter URLs (www.arealcity.com/you/)Problems:
- They WILL sometimes delete your site for NO REASON
- they screw up your pages
- no FTP
- sometimes you can't even LOAD the sites
Wiktor (30 MB)- Very good, subdomains (this.wiktor.dk),FTP, no ads. Very bad problems:
- Useless right now if you don't live in Denmark
- You can only get a CGI-BIN if there's good reason
