May Have Been
The new girl in town had entered tha room and into my class. She sat few seats behind me. I neva
really talked to her and i barely knew her. Several people had opinioniated that me and her should get
together. We were both short and people thought we made a cute lil couple like two lil angel dwarfs.
Sometimes i wondered whut doze people were thinking. when my frendz had tha idea that me and her
should get together, the had lotz of encouragement. Then came that time(friday night). My frendz and i
were dropping her home. Some of us distanced ourselves frum tha rest. Tha ones with me were puttin tha
pressure on me ta ask her. We stopped at tha stariway of tha Navy Lodge. Then minutes later, evreeone
wuz saying der last "good-nites." My frendz looked at me then started to walk away, i knew it was time.
I asked her to hold on (as if to say one last thing). While i tried to stop my hands frum shaking,
i inhaled. Then i exhaled quite deeply. I finally popped the question. She answered with "well, i gotta
think about it". Then i acceptingly uttered "alright". I jogged trying to catch up wid my (guy) frendz.
They almost simultaneously asked me whut she said. I replied "I'll think about it." Fe had told me that
she would say yes but i knew that her answer wuz no. Everybody said it'd be alright then everyone started
smiling and even me. but i was juz a mirror reflecting off them. because i knew whut her answer really wuz.
Next day had arrived and i was at Casual Sams clothing store waiting for my frendz to pick me up. I was
waitng patiently for about an hour. Then i see a group of guyz. i met them halfway. before tha pack had
started moving, one person handed me a letter. it was the letter frum the new girl. I instantly put it in
my back pocket and said "i'll read it later." Then we were off on to our long walk. When we reached the base,
we went to tha Teen Center and just kicked back. I decided to read tha letter. I opened the letter slowly.
I rolled my eyes back and looked up at the ceiling while inhaling. I exhaled deeply once agen and looked
back down to read tha letter. The letter read....
