Rev. Marc was born on July 16, 1952, and spent the first 5 years of family life growing up in southern New Jersey. At the age of 5 the family moved to Portland, CT and within a year or 2 the family moved across the CT River to Middletown, CT. Marc was raised in a Jewish home and attended Hebrew School in the late afternoon after attending public school. Marc was Bar mitzvahed at age 13 years and subsequently confirmed in the Jewish faith in 9th grade.
AT age 19 years his mother died suddenly at home, and this initiated his quest for a deeper understanding of God and for the purpose of his life. Marc was married to his Barbara, his wife of over 50 years on June 1, 1974, in New Britain, CT. After finishing ups his BSE degree at Western New England University Springfield, MA in May 1976, Marc subsequently held a series of development and management positions within the IT software engineering discipline until December 2024. In 1988 he graduated from Lesley University Cambridge, MA, with an MS in Applied Management.
In November 1984, while on a contract assignment, Marc made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and in the following February, he received a believers’ baptism. Marc and his wife joined what was then the Blackstone Federated Church (later to become known as Christ Community Church of Blackstone) in 1991 and have been so since that time. He has held various roles within the local church community including clerk, president, worship leader and now associate pastor.
During his time as a church member Marc was associated with the Gideons and in particular with their prison ministry. He has the privilege of ministering to inmates at the Baystate Correctional facility for a monthly Sunday morning service for 15 years. In 2012 at the encouragement of then current pastor, he made the decision to enter Liberty University’s Baptist Theological Seminary in pursuit of a master’s in divinity, a 93-credit hour program. In 2017 Marc graduated with his degree and was subsequently licensed by the Conservative Christian Congregational Conference (of which the church is a member church), ordained by the local church community where he serves today as it’s associate pastor under current senior pastor, Rev. Joe Overly.
