A Message from Pastor Ruth

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above.

Praise him all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts.”

Psalm 148:1-2

Here we are entering the second half of summer. The purple loosestrife is blooming and the trees and flowers are lush from all of the rain. God’s creation praises Him and so should we. Psalms tells us that the Lord inhabits the praises of His people so as we praise Him, He draws near to us. James tells us to draw close to God and He will draw close to you. Resist the devil and he will flee.

Summer is a great time to take a look at the wonders of God’s creation in all their splendor. It may be the majestic mountains or the roaring of the seaside. It may be walking through a garden or just sitting on the lawn and looking up at the stars at night. As you enjoy the glory of it all remember the glory of the Creator, our Creator, that fashioned it all.

Psalm 150 tells us to; “Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with the timbre and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of symbols, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

We can praise God no matter where we are and no matter what the circumstances are that are happening in our lives.

Take some time to smell the roses and breath in that wonderful breath of the Holy Spirit.

Happy Summer and many blessings, Pastor Ruth
