Warm-Up Game
Jared and Ian led a fun game called SUPERLATIVES where each group sends up a representative that best describes the adjective given by Jared and Ian. However a noun follows the adjective and the superlative is given after the representatives goes up. The winner is the one that best fits the superlatives.
Introduction
The topic for the night was on Spiritual Warfare as described in Ephesians 6:12. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Adam shows TWR the movie "INVISIBLE ENEMIES" which is a fictional story on the experience of spiritual warfare. If you haven't seen it, I must recommend you to watch. The video tape is available in Jack Lum's office. Just ask Jack for it.
After the movie, I (Adam), gave a introductory talk on spiritual warfare and what we as Christians should know and do about it. Basically to sum it up, it's easy as Christians to know that the devil exists and do nothing about it. We are in a war, a spiritual warfare, that we cannot see. And Satan's main goal is to hinder God's work. That include us, being effective Christians.
Here are five main ways Satan can attack you :
Satan is a formidable foe, do not underestimate him. Satan is well known in the Bible, he's known as:
But satan is limited in power. Jesus has defeated Satan through his resurrection. 1 John 4:4 God has given us the following resources to fight in this invisible battle:
Remember, Life isn't Neutral and as Christians we should be exercising our spiritual readiness in fighting this battle for God. Challenge is to learn more about spiritual warfare, grow deeper as a Christian (learn how to pray, learn what Quiet Time is, go to Sunday School).
“THERE ARE TWO EQUAL AND OPPOSITE ERRORS INTO WHICH OUR RACE CAN FALL ABOUT THE DEVILS. ONE IS TO DISBELIEV IN THEIR EXISTENCE. THE OTHER IS TO BELIEVE, AND TO FEEL AND EXCESSIVE AND UNHEALTHY INTEREST IN THEM. THEY THEMSELVES ARE EQUALLY PLEASED BY BOTH ERRORS.” C.S. Lewis
