I am taking freshman (ninth grade) 501, or honors math this year. I have always been particularly good at math, and I am not lying when I say that I knew multiplication and some division in first grade. My mom helped me a lot, and this allowed me to pull away from the level of my peers. In fact in first grade, my mom wanted me to skip a grade. But the school there would not allow me to. Coincidentally, since I was born in Hong Kong and immigrated here in 1991, I was told that if I had been born just ten days earlier in the year 1985, then I would now be in ninth grade.
However, because I do attend classes at the high school, I need to walk back from my math class to the junior high that I go to. I don't particularly like the walks because I miss some classes at the middle school during the walk and sometimes, I have to make up tests and quizzes that I miss. I have not fallen behind though, and I feel that this year has gone by very quickly. I can't wait until next year, because then I will move up to the high school (Newton North), and I will no longer have to have these dreaded walks.
