Real Name: Ian Chong Born: 3/9/86 Hometown: Boston, MA School: Boston Latin Grade: 8th / Class of 2004 |
Hi everyone!! This is Ian otherwise known as Ions. Well, most of you guys are aware of my background, already. Well, my birthday is on the ninth of March. I was born in Brigham and Women’s Hospital at 5:27 A.M on March 9,1986. As a result, I am 13 years old and nearing 14(which is in a couple of days). I attend Boston Latin School (GO BLS!!) in the 8th grade. I enjoy this school, even though there are 30 kids per class because I can make more friends. My elementary school was the Josiah Quincy School which I absolutely enjoyed and I spent nearly seven years (including kindergarten, I have never been kept back before!!) I have many memories in my past, but the most influential class I have ever been in was in 4th grade. This is because I met the most amount of friends in this grade and am still in contact with. I especially liked the teacher, Ms. Dewire. I am a friendly person, as most of my friends know and like talking to people. I am an only child and have always wanted a sister or brother because life as and only child is very boring. So most of the time, I spend time with my father (Trying to lead him to Christ! Please, pray for me), my mother, and my grandmother (Also trying to lead her to Christ!).
I wasn’t born in a Christian family. Well, actually, my mom did come to church (BCEC) when she first arrived in the United States. However, after she had me, she never really came back to church. However, during the 2nd grade of my life, one of her friends asked her to come to church. She did agree to come to church and she asked me to come with her. Well, PRAISE THE LORD, I agreed because on that day I really had nothing to do and probably, the Lord softened my heart so that I would agree. Well, my mom led me to a Sunday School class, which is in the age group that I was in. There, Teacher Eva (Eva Lee), was teaching. I listened to her and I found I actually enjoyed Sunday School. I especially remember the cutting of the stencils and making the little animals to help us remember the animals God put on the boat (Jared, and everyone from my Sunday School class should know what I’m talking about). As a result, I kept going to Sunday School and also encouraged/forced my mom to take me (hehe). Praise The Lord that Eva kept on teaching us. She was a huge encouragement to me. She taught me how to pray. Also, she helped me know Christ a lot more.
Then, in the July of 1993, I went to a Christian Conference in Rhode Island with my mom. There, the teachers of the kids, told us many stories and had puppet/magic shows. Through these instruments, the teachers led us to Christ. My friend who went with me, Jackson, was also a huge friend with me. He agreed to accept Christ with me. He was so much of an encouragement during this conference. He helped me understand Christ a little more, since he had been going to church since he was a baby. There, I accepted Christ thanks to my friends, my Sunday School teacher, Eva Lee, and the teachers at this conference. THANK YOU JACKSON, EVA, AND THE TEACHERS AT THE CONFERENCE!!! YOU WERE ALL PART OF GOD’S BIG PLAN IN HELPING ME GROW.
After that, I headed back to my life in Boston with a new attitude. I continued to grow in Christ through the help of my newly made friends in BCEC in Sunday School. The biggest helper of which was Jared. He encouraged me to go to church. He also spurred my interest in God (Praise be his name). He encouraged me as well as invited me to come to church. Then, when I was in the 4th grade, which was the year 1996, I got baptized. It was one of my biggest moments in my life. Eva Lee helped me translate when I had to speak in front of the whole congregation who was there for the baptism. I was so scared especially when I messed up at the end. But, thanks to Eva, I was calmed since she told me it was okay and that God was proud of what I was doing. I was baptized on Easter Sunday of April.
Ever since then, I have been a Christian. I pray to the Lord all of the time and do my QT (quiet times). Then, during a summer conference in New York, in Hofstra University, my fire was relit for God. One of the main people there was my small group leader, Tim. He helped us realize how much God cared for us. Sadly, this conference didn’t last forever. We had to leave since it was only for the weekend. Then, my small group leader died on a roller-coaster ride. I was depressed for a long time, but then, I realized that he was with God in heaven and would be evermore happy. I just want to thank him in this bio. THANKS TIMMY!!
Well as you have read above, I have many friends. I have gotten to know many people in the church. These are the most influential friends I have:
JARED: Jared is my best friend. He has helped me in times of need. He is a great friend of mines. Jared is always there for me when I’m bored and when I’m sad. He is fun to be around with. He is a good Christian and I just thank you for being there when I need you most.
Kevin: Kevin is a best friend of mine. He is always there for me and never fails to be there when I need him. He is always there waiting to help people. He is never angry, even though at times I may think he is. Kevin is a wonderful person to hang around with and he is So smart.
Chris: Chris is very cool. He's funny but sometimes gets out of control. But otherwise he's very cool. He's a good friend of mine and I have known him for a very long time. He likes to jump from high places and prove me right or wrong. He's always there to back his friends (i.e. me). Sorry Chris for forgeting to put you!!=(
Hoi: Hoi is always there too. He is so fun to hang around with. He is always joking around and when one is sad (i.e. me), he is always there to make one happy. He is very cool and smart.
Miller: Miller is also there when one needs him. He is there ready to quote from the Bible. When I’m down, Miller is there to help me by quoting the Bible. He is so smart in both Scripture and in school. He is very funny and fun to be around with.
Tim: Tim is a cool guy to be around with. He can brighten up my day when I get bored. He is also very talented at games and whenever I need to ask him a question concerning games, he is there ready to help. Also, he is ready to help if I need to ask about school.
My other friends which I would like to mention are:
