The twin strands lay like rails
Iron, copper, gold, mercury....

"In 1953, Nature announced that
the three  dimensional structure of DNA
was a double helix,
shaped like a twisted ladder.

and Zo was born..."

The tracks slowly twisted
And the train slowly spun silken strands
Out of the mouths of babes we were born...

"In 1953, Nature showed
high-resolution photos of
crystallized DNA fibers."

I was there holding him in my womb.
I took his hands and placed them on the fibers.

"This is life."

The universe is bound by a thin membrane...

"In the 1960's the genetic code was cracked, amniotic fluid spills out like a nebula..."

I lay my hands on his as he touched each molecule.
there are only four letters
or nucleotide bases
in the DNA  code,

all words have three letters,
there are 64 combinations

"My god these are jewels!
They are rings! They move!
They are fluid."

That is how I bathe my hands...

His white body lay
so Beautiful
Touching Life.

"There is a sense strand and
an anti sense strand
the strands under him moved
like mercury
rolling, replicating...

"We follow the laws of
Mendelian Inheritance,
we make perfect copies of ourselves."

Who shall inherit the earth?
the sea spray bathes the metal rails
He wanted to jump the tracks into the sea grass
golden and bending in the light

"There are jumping genes
...transposable elements..."

He transposed himself.
Skin white and so translucent
as pure wet DNA,
fluid and glistening as a Dali clock far away
suspended and luminescent, gliding
like an eel in the Sea
water in Sea grass
tethered by the light of the twin rails
the small buds of new loving wings
form beneath the thin membrane

As I look inside
I see the rebirth of Zo...

"2001 Science and Nature announce the complete sequence of the human genome...." and I'm there...

It is just the beginning....
