General Conclusions

The area in which Pele most excels the rest of mankind, is the art of dribbling a ball rolling on the ground past the defender. Pele appears to have used the dribbling system that I independently devised, studying the problem individually without studying other players or the words of experts, before I studied Pele; when I devised my dribbling system I was unaware of how my system resembles Pele's system of offensive grond dribbling. Pele often put the ball to one side of the defender and his body to the other and then reunited with the ball; he often put the ball through the defender's legs; and the rest of the time he would sweep both his body and the ball to one or the other side of the defender.

THESE TWO VIDEOS ARE THE SAME

Shots and dribbles by Pele. Shows his ambidextrous nature when dribbling by people, both left and right feet used.  Seems he favored his right foot when dribbling past defenders, but was competent at attacking with his left foot. Thus he was able to make use of single and double stepovers, to change over from a left footed attack to a right footed attack and vice versa.

Looking at this vid clip, seems a significant percentage of the time when Pele dribbled by a defender, he would run more than three paces, even up to six paces, before touching the ball again.

This video is amazing you have to see it!!! Pele truly is the greatest soccer player ever, and this video proves it!

Shows various skill aspects of Pele grouped by skill.

Appears that Pele favors his right foot, being right footed, when on the ground dribble attempting to beat a defender.

But he was clever at using his left foot to set up a right foot ground dribble.

Pele characteristically when dribbling was crouched forward over the ball, with his knees in front of the ball.

When doing his single and double stepovers, he would always end up with one of his feet in position near the ball giving him various options with the ball. Watching clips and reading about soccer dribbling moves, experimenting with them, I came to this same conclusion that stepovers should be like this, before watching the Pele tapes.

Alot of even the expert people doing the stepovers nowadays do not seem to understand the importance of having one foot in position after stepovers. Seems something has gotten lost along the knowledge transmission chain as a imitates b who imitates c who is influenced by d who copied e who was a student of Pele.

Fairly clear here how Pele clearly outclasses Maradona and Cruyff.

You can see how though Pele favored his right foot when dribbling past defenders, he was no slouch with his left, and often involved both left and right foot in attacks on defenders.

The basic max shot range with few exceptions for these three seems to be 30 yds.

Coincidentally(?) I earlier decided that though I should favor the left while dribbling, I should get the right foot dribbling as good as possible.

What a player for Manchester United and Northern Ireland. His genius will live on through clips such as this.

This video actually makes it clear how Best was clearly a  cut below Pele. Best lacked the natural grace of a Pele, was not as powerful in terms of the ability to dribble by defenders.

This clip in and of itself is evidence that the idea that Rooney is a white Pele is hyperbole. The clip shows Rooney excelling in volleying in shots with his feet from the  center of the field.

These guys are good at volleying in balls from the middle of the field but they are not in Pele's class.

This vid like others shows how Pele etc rarely score from more than 30 yds from the goal.

At 1:13 of this clip, Maradona shows off the greatest moving air dribble shown in any of these clips. He goes approx 5 yds slowly, kicking the ball only with his right foot five times, stepping once with his left foot in between kicks with his right.

The claim to fame of these guys lumped in with Pele is again their ability to volley in shots with their feet from the center of the field--but no evidence is shown that they are anywhere near  Pele in terms of the offensive ground dribble. Some of them seem to get ahead of Pele in terms of being able to shoot from beyond 30 yds.

Pele's fellow Brazilians are outclassed by Pele.

Shows Brazilian taking six step run up to ball on long free kick. USA tackle football kickers only take two or three steps up to ball on field goal.

Seems the USA type tackle football kickoff should be studied by soccer players as much as the USA type tackle football field goal.
