Sarada Seva Sangha,
an organization started and managed by a group of dedicated women, inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideal of ‘Service to Man is Service to God’, is committed to uphold the values of sacrifice, service and spirituality through its activities.You can help us to continue in this journey by any contribution you can make.
Organization
The Sangha has been approved as a charitable organization by the Income Tax Department of the Government of India. It is also registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and thus is eligible to receive foreign donations.
Activities
The activities of the Sangha are five fold : medical, educational, vocational training, general welfare and spiritual and cultural.
Education: We provide free coaching for 80 poor boys and girls(classes l to Vlll) through our center. The programme starts with prayer meditation and is concluded with a nutritious snack. Unfortunately we had to refuse some very deserving students from admission to our coaching programme this year due to lack of space.
Medical: We run a free dispensary (providing physical check up and medicine) for the poor people in the neighbourhood.
Eye Camp: We have conducted several eye-camps and continuing to do so on an ongoing basis. We have listed 50 patients in our upcoming camp in February. All the necessary expenses from their boarding, lodging, travel expenses and glasses will be borne by us.Career: About 50 destitute women are receiving training in tailoring, artificial flower making, jute handicrafts and bag making.
Relief: Occasionally in case of natural calamities we conduct relief operation by distributing food and clothing to the affected ones.
Our Needs
A building of our own is an immediate and absolute necessity for our work. A minimum single-story structure is estimated to cost about Rs. 17 lakhs . As of March 31st, 2000 we had collected about Rs. 7 lakhs. Our total expenditure was Rs. 1.7 lakhs in the year 1999-2000.
With the present scheme of work we will need an operating cost of Rs. 3 lakhs a year. We need to raise money to build a corpus endowment fund of Rs. 12 lakhs, so that a portion of the expenses could be generated from the corpus investment income. This will enable the Sangha to continue its activities.
To Summarise our needs:
Building Rs. 10 lakhs(we have Rs. 7 lakhs
Corpus Endowment Rs. 12 lakhs
Revenue Donation Rs. 03 lakhs
Total Rs 25 lakhs
