The different between myTE71(1981) and AE86(1983)
Engine TE71 = 2T-GEU(last model), 1cc more, 8 "Big" valves, EFI(Electronic Fuel Injection), Bigger engine(more heavy than 4A-GE), can be bore to 2000cc. AE86 = 4A-GE(from 1984 AW11 "MR2"), 1cc less, 16 valves, EFI, lighter than 2T-GEU, can't really be bore like the 2T-GEU
Brakes TE71= Front disk not vented. AE86= Front disk vented. Both got same rear disks
Interia Pretty much the same space (height and width) AE86 got lower sitting possition, no volt gauge, and different dash.
Gearbox Both of them got T50 gearbox
Rear axle They are the same(6.7"). Just different final ratio. TE71 = 4.1 AE86 = 4.3
Body very simmilar in overall dimension some just a few milimeter off....Lenght, height, mass, width, wheelbase. TE71 got all metal bumpers. AE86 = plastic bumpers
Driver feeling Because they got different diff ratio, TE71 RPM go up slower than AE86 but maybe TE71 got more top speed.. Haven't try the AE86 topspeed yet. At 100km/h TE71 rpm about 3100rpm and AE86 3500rpm. TE71 Body feel much much stronger maybe due to rollbar, strut braces, bushs and suspension.
