On The Streets Of Philadelphia...

In Philadelphia, I had a photographer's pass, which allowed me to take pictures from the space between the barrier and the stage for the first four songs. I was terrified! I'd never done anything like this before and I'd heard stories from others about how awful you're treated by the crew, how you get pushed around, etc. I went in feeling like I was going to come out as a mangled mess.

Yet, here I am in one piece. Turned out there were only ten photographers there, two of us being female. The only people I had problems with were the drunk morons in the front row who decided it would be fun to grope me while I took pictures. Other than that, I had a blast and was treated wonderfully by U2's staff and security.

A big thank-you to Brian O'Neal for his help and respect. I appreciate the opportunity; the results, I think, are great! :-)

As far as the show was concerned, I saw the first four songs from up front, missed two, and saw the rest from the back. It gave me an idea of just how different a show is depending on your location. As a spectacle, PopMart is astounding from the very back of the stadium. You get a sense that it really IS just one big plastic hassle.
From up front, that's where you can see the emotion, where the persons behind the popstars emerge. You see the insanity of certain performances where they don't translate as well to the back. Songs take on new life when you see them flashing across Bono's face.
