Condor Flats

The second themed district of DCA will be Condor Flats. This will be themed after a high-desert air force facility of the 1940's. The buildings will look like old aircraft hangars and the streets will be marked as runways. I think this is a good idea but needs some more attractions. The attraction here is:

Rides + Attractions

Soarin' Over California: This will be a hang gliding simulator that uses a suspended theater which seats 87 people and hangs above an IMAX screen. During the ride guests soar over such landmarks as the Golden Gate Bridge. This will be filmed at 48 frames per second which is double a normal movies speed. The ride is designed to make you feel as if your soaring through the sky. It also can simulate you diving as the whole theater drops. My opinions here are that this will be one of the best rides in both the California Adventure and Disneyland. There will be two theaters which seat 87 guests a piece.

03/30/99: Que Info I have seen a computer animated walk through of the que area. It is very neat and I will try to explain it the best that I can. It also may have been exagerated by the video somewhat.

You first enter into the hangar and see a large section of screens above you that appears to be a skylight. You hear loud roaring noises and see planes zooming above. This room also has hanging banners. The next room (hallway) is filled with pictures of different pilots. Some are even kids. There are also changing projections on pictures hanging above. After, you start to approach a large picture of what looks like the runway. You turn right and enter a large room where you board and separate into rows.

If this seems somewhat incorrect, E-Mail me what you actually do see and what it looks like.

Restaurants

The Airfield Cafe: A giant restaurant shaped like a hangar with an air jet exploding out the front.

The Bite Stuff : A fast food restaurant featuring burgers and ribs

Ruby's: A 1940's fast food joint

05/4/99 Sorry, but this is a sit down restaurant! It is themed to what people from the 1940's thought the future would be like. Also, posters from past world fairs would hang.

Shops

Fly N' Buy: A shop selling different aviation soveniers.
