An excuse

The tragedy in Columbine, Colorado took the whole world by shock and surprised everyone. As soon as it was over and everyone knew about it people started putting down the blame on people and things. As soon as the blame went down the name Marilyn Manson came up into conversations.

It can’t be stressed enough already that Marilyn Manson is bad that the media has to bring it up on this incident? Don’t some people realize that they’re beating themselves by unknowingly presenting him to the crowd. It’s publicity and whatever kind of publicity it is, it’s good because someone else hears of them.

Another point about Marilyn Manson that should be made is the way they’re showing his image. In an issue of Newsweek where there was a picture of their new album and a thing to the side which basically said that some of these pictures maybe to blame. I know that some Marilyn Manson lyrics may be harsh to people who don’t know the whole story but at least pick a picture of an album that has lyrics like that. The picture they had was the cover of Mechanical Animals, what’s so wrong about lyrics on that album? That is one of the most poetic albums he has written and it is mainly about loved ones (in his own way).

Just because these two children who killed were different doesn’t mean they listened to Marilyn Manson. In fact, a person who was studying their lives said on national television both didn’t listen to the band. She also said that they hated him because he tried to be something that he’s not.

Another thing that was brought up about this incident is people who dress different. Now ever since the two murderers wore trench coats others are being antagonized at school because they wear them. It is ridiculous because a student at our high school has been wearing one for two years since he was in eighth grade. The day he came back he had to talk to Mister Zabelski because several students had complaints about it.

Why hadn’t they said anything before? They’ve seen him everyday walking around school for almost two years and hardly nothing has been said. Now, he’s the next killer in the school because he wears a black trench coat.

This school would never have anything like that unless in the next few years troubled children come here. If there’s a sign of something wrong here it is reported and the person is spoken to friendly. It is a nice system and they just check the child out because they don’t want anything to go wrong here.

Maybe their should be less judgmental people so there would be less troubles among teens. Like any other school there will always be the tormented and the tormentors. This case applies to some of society also.
