Between the Darkness and the Light

Neil's Domain

This picture is from the Circle K “prom” cruise my club held back in May 1999. I know its old, but I don’t know of any newer better pictures. I was crowned “prom king” which explains the crown and flowers. This is really my “Ego” picture, but hey a little egotism never hurt! ;-) To quote Mel Brooks, “It’s good to be king.”

Hello and welcome to my world. My name is Neil and I am a communications major at Northeastern University and I am in now at Junior at Northeastern University which is the 4th year out of NU’s 5 years. I’m concentrating on working in Organizational Communications, possibly as a consultant.

I am a father of a beautiful 8 month old baby, named Madison . She has her own webpage, curtsey of her grandfather, filled with tons of pictures. Her mother, as an assignment for her “Exploring the Internet “ class also made her a website.

I guess I should briefly explain the title of this website. It comes from Babylon 5 and is a sort of mantra for the government of the Minbari. I like it because to me it means to be in balance with nature. To be between the darkness and the light you are neither “good” nor evil”, “right” nor “wrong”, neither in “order” nor in “chaos”, etc. That is the way I feel one should live, because being at one extreme or the other isn’t good, one must be between both to live in peace. Of course that’s what it means to me, it could be different for you and that goes along the lines of this principle, there is no right or wrong.

This is a page all about me, who I am, what I like, etc. So, come and relax for a while. Feel free to search around at your leisure. Oh and I'd appreciate it if you wiped your feet before coming in. =0Þ

Who am I? Good question. I’m still finding out! So far I have made it to my Junior Year of College here at Northeastern University. I am a new, proud father and engaged to the love of my life.

I am told I am kind, smart, caring, and mature, though that may just be people being nice. ;-) I am mostly an optimist who believes that people shouldn’t complain about things but start working on solutions. The minute you start working on a solution is the minute that you start to solve it. As someone (if anyone knows who exactly, please e-mail me) said, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.”

Also, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for the page, feel free to e-mail me at nblumeng@lynx.neu.edu. Thanks.
