As heard on Friday, I have a new job. I've quit the other two with this one week as a notice, and I'll have all of next week to take little day trips and shop for new clothes for my starting date of Sept. 7.

I may or may not have to take a hiatus from this here journal. I'm hopefully going to get a connection at my apartment. It's coming to the point of being a necessity, compared to the Sony Playstation that I'm so tempted to buy. I'm such a sucker for video games! Chances are, the I-want-a-Sony-Playstation phase will pass, and I'll be online. So, if there is a hiatus, it's not going to be for more than a couple weeks. Don't lose me though! My life is just getting interesting...

I had my sister up for the weekend. She and I went into town and walked to the different bookstores, petted the kitties in one of them. Saturday it rained terribly, so we went to the mall where everyone else had gone. I started coming down with a cold at the mall, so we had to leave. I felt like I was going to pass out. My sister was so cute when we went to get some iced tea so I could replenish the sugar in my body:

"Drink some Gatorade, Kate," she handed me her squirt bottle of blue juice. "I know it looks gross and tastes kind of gross, but it's healthy."

She's at the age where we can really talk about stuff. She filled me in on the boys that she has a crush on, and I explained why Austin Powers isn't really for kids (though she did a great impression of "I lost my mojo"). She also slowly recited the Magnetic Poetry phrase on my fridge that said, "Andrea fears that Jason and Katie make animal love from behind." I tried not to laugh because I couldn't distract her attention while she placed the words together. She said she didn't "get it," but after I said, "good," she replied, "Oh, now I do." No other comment between the sisters, but I'm hoping she keeps that a little secret from Mom like I'm keeping her knowledge of Austin Powers a secret too.
