My New Boat

This is a Picture of my new boat. I've only taken it out twice so far so I really havent opened her up yet (don't wanna fry the new Motor). The top speed I've reached so far is 60mph, 10mph short of my expectations. I believe that I have to go with a bigger Carb, something like a 850 double pumper and improve the airflow somewhat. The only air cleaner I could fit was custom fabricated (offset) by a friend that works at a brass shop and holds only a 10" x 1.5" air cleaner filament. What I'd really like to do is dump the Smog "J" heads and pick up a set of "B" or "C" heads but the budget wont allow it right now. One thing I don't understand is that even with the big block, the engine has only turned the Berkely Jet 4500 rpm which is only 100 rpm more than the 350ci motor that was in my old boat.
