Let me just start by saying that the average PS2 owner who has owned one from launch day is on their 3rd PS2 because of them breaking down. This is a fact and explains the mad sales figures for the PS2 (or Gaystation2 - GS2). Jealous of Nintendo and Sega, Sony entered the games arena and with their buckets of money tried to put them out of business. Despite (unlike Sony) making games themselves, Sony effectively put Sega out of business and dented Nintendo a little. Then Microsoft came along and tried to repeat Sony's success. To express how much I hate these companies I say this : I'd raher be sodomised by the most revolting person for 7 days straight than touch a PS2 pad for 1 second. And the XBOX repulses me 10 times more than the PS2. The PS2 and the XBOX are indeed, the tools of the chav.

When Sony announced their PS2, did you ever expect that people would be waiting in line for six hours just for the chance to buy one of these new units? Would you ever expect there to be a memory card shortages? What about the over-heating problems? Would you ever expect the launch list to be full of nothing but sequels to old PSX games? That the backwards compatibility wouldn't be fool-proof? Most of all, did you ever expect PS2 launch games like Tekken Tag Tournament to actually look worse than 18-month old Dreamcast titles like Soul Calibur? Yeah, well... neither did the rest of the world.

According to several sources within the industry, such as Japanese developer Capcom, Sony is purposely building faulty/low quality builds of PlayStation 2's in order to drive sales. With most people, a PS2 breaks down or "glitches up" after about a year or year and a half. When the PS2 breaks, they go out and buy another one. Consumer reports state that Sony is the No. 1 company with defective electronics with a 15 percent return in rate

A number of years ago, Nintendo invented what we know of as a 'modern console'. They basically invented the platform game as well redefining a dozen other game types, upping the standards from then on. Along come SEGA, seeing the popularity of Super Mario and creating their own 'platforming mascot' - the rubbish Sonic the Hedgehog. A number of years later and the Nintendo reject - their 'Playstation' is broughtout by SONY - along with a joypad which is basically a SNES pad. Nintendo bring out the N64 - introducing the analogue stick, and a pad that rumbles - and SONY 'create' a new pad that has both these features and market it as the amazing new duel shock. How creative of them! Anyway, They have'nt needed to create any new pads since - whereas Nintendo had an entire research and deveopment team honing the Gamecube pad for FOUR YEARS.
