The Friday 13th story coninues with the survivor of the original being destroyed by Jason, in his first screen killing! The film introduces the character of Jason Voorhees, who has previously been unseen, thought of as a legend (except at the end of the origina, but we cannot be sure if this is a dream).

The film stars one of the most pathetic looking Jasons of the entire series - Francis Warrington Gillette III, but makes up for this with the atmosphere of the 1st film, and some good killings, the machete in the face of the cripple for instance. The film sees off the three survivors of Part 1 : Betsy Palmer makes her final appearance as Pamela Voorhees, Walt Gorney makes his final appearance as 'Crazy' rRalph, and Adrianne King as Alice.
