Story
It is a time of great evil. The army of darkness is rising. Into this medieval confusion arrives Ash, newly transported from the 20th century. He is reluctantly hailed as a hero sent to oppose the deadites. Fully armed with a chain saw, a shotgun and a ’73 Sedan, he goes in search for the ‘Book Of The Dead’ which contains the spell to open the doorway through time. Unfortunately, Ash, not being the brightest of heroes, reads out the wrong spell, resurrecting the Army of the Dead. Will the world be plunged into darkness forever? Will he save the beautiful maiden, Sheila? Does the loudmouth, cowardly hero really care?
Description
Whereas Evil dead was 100 % serious and Evil Dead 2 was 50% serious and 50 % comedy, Army Of Darkness is 100 % comedy. If you have seen The Evil Dead and Army Of Darkness, but not Evil Dead 2, you would wonder what the f@?k had happened to the series. Army Of Darkness works great in 2 ways : It is an excellent end to the series, and ties up some loose ends, and if the viewer watches this without having seen the previous 2, they would be in for a marvellous treat. Army Of Darkness is slightly worse than Evil Dead 2 in the same way that Evil dead 2 is slightly worse than the original. It is the low point of the series, but don’t think it really means ‘low’, it’s just our opinion that the other two were slightly better, due to having gore and being set at the cabin.
