Chris Chetti made his ECW PPV debut at Hardcore Heaven 1997 when the wrestlers from the locker room spilled out to the ring. He didn't last long though - Big Dick Dudley slamed him to the floor, grounding the rookie.
Trained by his cousin Taz, Chris Chetti soon learned that in ECW you need someone to watch your back. Ofcourse Taz was on his side, but he realised that a permanent tag-team partner was what was needed. In 1998 he tagged with several ECW stars including Jerry Lynn, but it wasn't long until he met up with Nova in early 1999. Nova and Chetti (below) began in March and soon rose up the ranks in ECW's tag-team scene.
Making their PPV debut as a team at Living Dangerously '99, they fought Danny Doring and Roadkill in a match that took place before the cameras started rolling. It was at that time that Nova developed the Tidalwave move which involved Chris Chetti Leg dropping and Nova splashing the opponent at the same time. The move was an instant hit and helped propel Chetti to a higher level of stardom in ECW. At Heatwave 99, they had a rematch that was this time shown on TV and with Nova's Kryptonite Krunch as a finisher - the match was one of the best in the PPV. Anarchy Rulz 99 and during another match, Chetti damaged his back - and he wouldn't return until Living Dangerously 2000 (Except for PPV run-ins). Stll without having held the tag-team belts, the tag-team tournament went by with Tajiri and Mikey winning - Nova and Chetti were out in the first round due to Chetti 'accidently' kicking Nova. The following week and Chetti hit Nova with a chair - destroying their team. A new Chetti was born and managed by Lou E. Danderously, he kept attacking Nova and finally came November to Remember 2000 and a loser leaves match. Nova won, therefore expelling Chris Chetti from ECW.
Guilty as Charged 2001 saw Chris Chetti again in ECW as a Referee during one of Nova's fights - and Nova wasn't happy.
