Where I Come From

Hare Krishna. I was born and brought up in Mumbai city which is in Hindusthan. Hindusthan or Bharat is one of the oldest countries in the world. It has the oldest surviving culture in the world. Hindusthan's history can be traced back to 5000 BC. The Vedas are the ancient scriptures of Hindusthan on which a number of modern day religions such as Hinduism, or Sanatana Dharma and Buddhism are based. I am very proud to be a Maharashtrian hailing from the state of Maharashtra. Maharashtra is the most historic state in Hindusthan. The greatest man ever to be born on earth was born in Maharasthra. His name was Chatrapthi Shivaji Maharaj. During his time Hindusthan was ruled by foreign invaders known as mughals. These mughals oppressed the people destroyed Hindu temples and plundered the country. At the young age of 16, Sri Shivaji Maharaj took a vow to free his motherland from its barbaric rulers. He brought Swaraja (freedom) to the country established Shiv Shahi. He was the greatest King in the history of the world. Maharashtra is also known as Sant Bhoomi (land of saints). Here great saints like Namdeo, Tukaram, Ramdas (Shivaji's Guru), Dnyaneshwar and many more were born. These saints made the people God conscious and were great devotees of Lord Pandurang (Sri Krishna). After Shivaji Maharaj the Maratha empire didn't last very long. And the Briitish occupied and ruled Hindusthan. Once again the freedom movement started in Maharashtra, led by Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Tilak said "Swaraja ha maja janma siddha hakka ahae" (freedom is my birth right). Its because of freedom fighters like Tilak, Veer Savarkar, Chapekar brothers, Mahatma Gandhi, and many others who gave up their lives for their motherland that Hindusthan is free today. Currently Hindusthan is faced with many problems most of which are due to over population, and the lack of past governments to tackle population growth. Hindusthan's borders once contained the present day countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Tibet. Hindusthan was broken into half by foreign invaders on a number of occasions. Even now terrorists openly supported by Hindusthans neighbours are trying hard to break Hindusthan even further. Extremists are ruthlessly murdering innocent people to seperate Kashmir. In the Bhagvad Gita Lord Krishna says that "It is the duty of every citizen to fight for religious principles and his motherland". Hindusthanis have been tolerant throughout history and paid the price for it. It is the duty of every true Hindusthani to fight for his country. Unless Hindusthanis untie, Hindusthan shall be broken into more pieces. In Maharashtra I am proud to say that Hindusthan's best political party the Shiv Sena is in power. The Shiv Sena and its ally the BJP are the only truly patriotic, non corrupt political parties which can save the country. It is time to revive Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj's battlecry "Har Har Har Mahadeo". And be proud of our rich religious and cultural heritage. Thanks for your time. Jai Shri Ram. Hare Krishna.
