Compaq Computer Corporation will be featuring Aureal's A3D Interactive 3D
audio technology on its new Presario 4910 currently shipping in the U.S. and Canada. Compaq plans to include A3D in future Presario models.

Descent: FreeSpace and MDK from Interplay to Support A3D.  Interplay's Starfleet Academy already supports A3D.                

 

 

April 29, 1998                                     Activision to Support A3D 2.0.  New and upcoming games from Activision will support Aureal latest 3D positional technology.

 

 

April 28, 1998                                            Aureal announces the release of A3D 2.0.  New features include:

  • Wave-Tracing Technology:  real-time acoustic reflections, reverb, and occlusion rendering.
  • Vortex 2 Support:  provides more 3D sources, high sample rate, larger HRTF filters.
  • A2D:  host CPU-based A3D emulation mode for non hardware-accelerated PCs.
  • A3D API:  a complete interface to support A2D, A3D, and A3D 2.0 rendering features
  • Advanced resource management features
  • A3D Authentication Protection
