OCTOBER NEWS LETTER
The next meeting of the TAVVA will be on 11/01/04 at the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club on E. Brittania st. Taunton at 7PM
Our annual bike ride fundraiser is scheduled for Nov 7th at the former Princess House parking lot.. Rodger reports that it is moving along quite smoothly. Hope we can count on you to give us a hand in some way,we can use all the help we can get. We need people to park cars and to serve/cook food at the fuel stop. Remember this is what funds our Scholarship Program!! It's fun and rewarding, we will feed those that help. Our $6 a year membership dues are not sufficient to have a scholarship, so thanks to Rodger we have a way of replacing the funds.
Our last adopt a high way cleanup will be on 10/23/04 9AM if you would like to help please call dennis or john.
If you are interested in attending the Taunton Middle School talent competition on 10/24/04 at 2 p.m. please call Herb, he has free tickets. The TAVVA was invited to furnish a color guard for the event.
Veterans day 11/11/04 activities in Taunton will start at 11AM at the doughboy on Taunton Green. A coalition will follow at the VFW after the ceremonies. Hope that you will come and stand with us and pay homage to your fellow veterans.
The November meeting, as usual, always brings our nominations for officers for the coming year. If you are interested in running for a position or to nominate someone new, please come to the meeting. Only regular members(viet vets) are able to vote or become an officer.
Preparations for our annual Christmas Party are being discussed right now. We are looking at the Gun Club as a location and Chinese on the menu. More info to follow in the Nov. newsletter. We have scheduled Saturday 12/04 as the date, so mark your calenders.
If anyone is interested in attending our slide show at Massasoit Community College on 11/08/04 Please call Dennis, it's a fun project that we conduct each year for the students and faculty. And if you haven't seen the show yet, it's very interesting.
