Kay, this is where I tell you all about me, eh? Well, let's see...
Well, my birthday is September 12th, 1976, so right now I am 23 and a Virgo. I don't really think that most of the things that supposedly describe Virgos are true. For example, I'm supposed to like be all neat and stuff. NOPE! I'm so disorganized about everything but my movies and CD's, but if I don't keep them all as neat as possible, I'll never find the one that I want to see or hear, as I own over 300 CD's and over 800 movies. Yeah, walking into my house feels like walking into a Blockbuster video. Some of my fave movies are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Nowhere, and Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, so Joe must be sick of watching them by now. But that's okay, because if I see Speed once more, I'll puke!
I work too much, but I think I am good at what I do. I am currently working as a receptionist for Simplex, except on Thursday nights, when I work at The Hard Rock Cafe. Simplex is a pretty cool place to work and all, I get to do my own thing for most of the day and all, as long as I am answering the phones, with some other work spattered here and there. I manage to have a good time, and I pretty much like the people here. The Hard Rock, however, is starting to wear thin, I think. I've always said that as soon as it's no longer fun, I'll quit. That day is fast approaching!
NEWSFLASH!!! As many of you know, I have wanted to go back to school for quite some time now. Well, guess what? I finally did it. Using the Educational Assistance Program that Simplex offers, I am now in class one night a week. I'm taking Intro to Sociology, which is pretty cool, I guess! But I don't think that the prof likes me, I argue too much! Does that stop me? NEVER!
The way I dress has been altered a bit, as I have to look a bit more professional when I'm working as a receptionist. And no, don't worry, the platform shoes are still ALWAYS on me, that will never change! But at work I usually wear like some cargo pants and some kind of button down shirt or something. Think Structure. At play though, I'm still a Jnco boy, wearing my big baggy jeans with whatever t-shirt suits my fancy and all. Never fear, I haven't changed THAT much!
I guess if you wanna know what I think about life, all you have to do is listen to my kind of music. Tori Amos says it best in the waitress. "I believe in peace, Bitch." I dunno, I have a strange, somewhat sarcastic look on life, but it's all a big laugh, ya know? I mean, whatever I do, wherever I go, I'm usually laughing at one thing or another. I mean, I think that I'm the only person that could get his 12 year old cousin to start dancing like a Spice Girl at their Grandmother's wake, eh? (Hey, love ya Nicole!)
Religion is also an interesting subject to me. I always here everyone talking about there way being the only way and all of this, which I don't understand. I think the reason I like Neil Gaiman's Sandman series of comics is because it shows almost exactly what I believe religions to be. I think that every one is correct in their beliefs, with the exception of theirs being the only way to, pardon the word, but I haven't anything better, "salvation." Now what if everyone's beliefs were valid, and that every religion were correct? And what if you only go to wherever you WANT to go after you pass on? Do you think you're going to heaven? Then that's where you're headed! Hell? then Burn baby, burn. But please, for my sake, burn in style!
I enjoy reading a lot, and John Saul is one of my favourite writers. I like anything from fantasy, such as the Xanth series by Piers Anthony, to horror, as in the aforementioned John Saul, to a lot of gay titles. I think "A Funny Time to be Gay" is my fave gay book, it's all snippets of routines by gay comedians, so I'll sit on the train laughing while reading it. So I look like a crazy peron, do I care? I think not! I'm also really into the Sandman series of comics, even though the writer has stopped it. I have all of the graphic novels, and have read them all several times.
I'm from a really small town in CT called Willimantic. I guess the best way to find out what's going on there would be to check out The Chronicle. It's the town's local paper and all. I still think of the place as the armpit of the universe, somewhere that makes you think, "God, I wish I were somewhere else." I have a lot of family and friends there though, so I do go back quite a bit and visit and all of that happy stuff. A few businesses are coming into the area though, so I am hoping that it pulls out of the depression that it's been in and once again becomes a prosperous town. If not, I'll have to slowly buy it when I am rich and famous, and do something with it from there!
So okay, this is now kind of updated and trying to keep pace with me. Hopefully I'll be able to keep coming back to update it. If I don't, I am sure that someone, (this means you, Leisa-Amy!) will write me nasty letters!
