Buffy and Angel's Dreams Come True

By NTmeant2B@aol.com

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters! I wish I did, but I don't!
Note: This is the first in my 'Dreams Come True' Series. There will be 2 or 3 more stories after this too!!! This takes place like 1 or 2 months after "Surprise". Angel never turned evil when he and Buffy, ya know. Therefore Jenny never died (but she isn't really in the story), so Giles and her are together! Xander & Cordy are together, as are Oz & Willow.

As Buffy Summers walked through the double doors of the library she looked at her watch, 3:30 am. She wondered why Giles insisted on having her come to the library so late, or rather early. She saw her friends Xander and Cordy together laughing on the stairs. Oz and Willow sitting next to each other at the table, and Giles leaning against the counter. They all seemed so happy.

"Hey guys, what is so important that you had to get me here so late or early? Giles, I was tucked in bed, sleeping, having a wonderful dream. So this better be good!" Everyone was staring at her with big, happy smiles. "Ok, should I be worried?"

Then Giles spoke up, "Well, Buffy this is rather great news, at least I know it will be to you. I thought you would like to know... I found a spell that with make Angel human."

As soon as the words sunk in Buffy fainted, hitting her head as she collapsed on the floor. Buffy woke up 10 minutes later on the couch in Giles office and heard a familiar voice. She tried to sit up, but her body refused to cooperate. No one realized she was awake yet, and she was just about to alert them to her consciousness when she heard arguing.

"NO, I WON'T DO IT!" Angel was yelling. "I swore to myself I would never feed from any human for the rest of my life. You think I'm gonna start with Buffy? No way!" Giles interrupted Angel,

"Angel, you will not be putting her in any harm. She won't be transformed into a vampire, I would never let harm come to her, not if I had any power to prevent it. You will be feeding from her as I recite this incantation," here he paused to gesture at a book lying open on the desk. "The incantation will both make you human and prevent her death, so even if something happened and you were to lose control…"

"NO! I'm not feeding from her, I haven't lost control in over 80 years and I'm not about to tempt fate, not with Buffy!"

Xander took this opportunity to cut in, "Ya know G'man, I for once agree with Dead-Boy here. He's not biting Buffy to become human."

Willow, Cordy, and Oz gave Xander a look and simultaneously yelled, "SHUT UP!"

Giles continued his argument, "Angel you love Buffy don't you?" Angel stopped pacing and stared at the Watcher.

"What the hell kind of question is that? Of course I do, with all my heart and soul!" Willow decided it was time for a little womanly reasoning.

"Listen Angel, I know you love her, we all do. If you love her then don't you want her to have a normal life, don't you want to have a normal life with her? Get married, have kids, grow old together? Buffy is the Slayer, and she doesn't know how long she'll live, no one knows except maybe God, but I know she wants to spend whatever life she does have with you. You have the opportunity to make that life complete, don't you want to do that for her and for you?" Everyone sat silently for a few moments, taken a back by Willow's strong words and the truth behind them.

"Of course I want that, I want that for myself and I want that from her. I want nothing less for her which is why I won't do this. I won't risk ending her life," Giles was about to protest but Angel cut him off and continued. "I know you say this spell will prevent her from dying, but if it doesn't and if I lose control, I can't even think of the consequences. I won't take that risk with her life! I WON'T!" Buffy has been listening to the entire conversation through the open door of Giles' office. She knew Angel better than anyone else there, and knew his mind was made up on this matter. Buffy decided it was time for her to intervene.

"Angel, shut up! Listen to me for a minute will you?" Everyone in the library turned their attention to the small petite blond on the couch. Angel rushed over to her and helped her up, she leaned against for support until the room stopped spinning and then turned her attention to her assembled friends. "Can we have a few minutes, please?" They all nodded and Giles closed the door to his office. Angel took Buffy's hand and led her back to the couch. He sat down and Buffy sat on his lap, they sat together in silence for a moment before Buffy spoke up. "Angel, I know your scared of hurting me, of killing me, but I am asking you to do this. Willow told me what you said when she asked if there was ever anything you could wish for that you don't have, do you remember what you said?" Buffy paused waiting for Angel to reply.

"Yes, I do remember, I wished to be human again, grow old with the woman I love." Buffy lifted his head up to look him in the eyes.

"You already have me, now that wish could come true." Angel interrupted.

"But I would have to feed from you. A slayer's blood is powerful, I could...." Angel couldn't finish because Buffy was kissing him. At first he resisted her, wanting to continue arguing his point, but then he gave in to the passion. He was never able to resist her. She pulled away from him, to look in his eyes again. Her eyes pleading with him.

Angel finally spoke. "Alright Buffy, I'll do it. I love you!" Buffy began to smile and hugged him tightly.

"I love you too," she murmured. She began to get up but Angel pulled her back down for a long, passionate kiss. They would have gone on longer but Xander interrupted them.

"Uh, umm, you guys can do that later!" Buffy and Angel both looked up and groaned.

"When do we get started?" Buffy asked, emerging from the office with Angel and Xander.

"Well," Giles started, "I would like to have everyone present in case a, uh, situation should… well, um, occur. I suggest we all get some sleep then meet at, Buffy's or Angel's?"

"Mine, my mom's not gonna be home a week." Buffy replied.

"Ok, everyone meet at Buffy's by 11:30pm. I am sure all of you will be there before, but it will take me some time to assemble the required ingredients. Buffy and Angel, I would advise you to get a good deal of sleep, you're going to need it." Giles said then left. Giles was right, everyone was at Buffy's at 6:00pm. They watched movies and talked, until almost 11:30. Xander and Cordy we cuddled together on the floor, Willow and Oz were on the couch, Angel was in the recliner, and Buffy was sitting on the stool, drinking hot tea at the counter in the kitchen. She was looking out the window, and hadn't noticed Angel come up behind her until he wrapped his arms around her waist, making made her jump a little. Angel leaned over kissed her.

"What was that for?" Buffy asked. Angel looked up shocked.

"What, I can't kiss you now?" He started to walk out of the kitchen but was stopped when Buffy pulled him back.

"I'm sorry, I just didn't expect it. Forgive me?" Angel sighed.

"I suppose I could!" They sat in silence until Angel spoke.

"Are you sure you're ok with this?"

"Yes. I'm completely okay with it. I love you Angel, and I want this for you, for us." Buffy said. Angel just smiled at her, and pulled her into his embrace. They walked back to join the others in the living room, and Buffy suggested another movie. Everyone agreed. At 11: 45 there was a knock at the door. Buffy knew it was Giles and hurried to get it not wanting to disturb the others who had all fallen asleep. Buffy opened the door for Giles and motioned him towards the kitchen.

"Are you and Angel ready to do this?" Giles asked with concern. Buffy looked up at her Watcher.

"I want to do this, but I think Angel is doing this for me. If we do this, I want him to do it because he wants it. Not cause it will make me happy." Angel, who had entered the room unnoticed to the other overheard what Buffy said and interrupted.

"Buffy, I am doing this for both of us. I want to have romantic lunches, picnics, or even long strolls in the park with you." Buffy turned around kind of embarrassed he had heard what she said.

"Oh, Angel I didn't see you there," she smiled sheepishly.

"Buffy let's do this" Angel said. Buffy, Angel and Giles went up stairs to start the ritual. Giles got busy setting up the ingredients for the incantation, and Buffy got comfortable on the bed, steeling herself for the pain to come.

"Ok Buffy, Angel, you both need to lay down while I perform the first step of this incantation, when that's completed it will be time for Angel to feed. You're both sure you want to do this?" Angel and Buffy nodded, their faces matching in looks of determination. Angel crawled in bed with Buffy, and together they lay there watching Giles work. An hour later, Giles finished and looked at the couple who were curled together on the bed, apparently asleep. "Alright, it's time." Angel gently got off the bed and knelt beside Buffy. "Whenever you're ready, Angel." Angel nodded, a grim look on his face.

"Buffy," Angel whispered in her ear, and she looked at him. "Giles says it's time. I have to drink from you now. Are you ready?" Buffy nodded. "Are you sure, this is going to hurt. We can still stop." Again Buffy nodded and motioned for him to proceed. Angel took a deep unneeded breath and bent down, stopping inches above Buffy's neck. He shifted his position and leaned down and kissed her soundly, he proceeded to kiss a path down her neck, when he reached the place he would bite her he kissed her one last time before shifting into his game face and sinking his fangs in. He felt her body shake for a minute, and Buffy felt a piercing pain in her neck. The moment Angel bit into Buffy Giles began reciting the words from the incantation and sprinkling holy water and herbs about the room. Buffy face was contorted in pain, but somehow she looked at peace, a look she very rarely possessed. Suddenly there was a loud crash of lightening and Angel flew from Buffy's side. He collapsed against the wall in the far corner, doubled over in pain. As Giles watched Angel's face shifted from that of the demon to that of the human what seem like a hundred times before settling on its human visage. Angel fell unconscious to the floor, and Giles let out the breath he had been holding, knowing the spell was a success. He turned his attention to the now unconscious slayer just as the Scooby Gang came tearing through the bedroom door. Their rest having been disturbed by the thunder and lightening show. They all rushed to their pale unconscious friend concerned for her well being.

"Is she going to be alright?" Willow asked slightly panicked.

"Yes, she should be fine, but she needs to rest and so does Angel. Xander, Oz will you help me lift him to the bed?" Giles asked motioning to the man, for that was what he was now, lying on the floor. Together they moved Angel's unconscious form to the bed lying him next Buffy. Now, let's leave them to rest, Buffy said we were more than welcome to stay here. Giles and the rest of the gang left the Slayer and Angel, and made their way to find some rest themselves.

Buffy awoke at five-thirty that morning, feeling slightly drained, but otherwise fine. She looked over at the sleeping form next to her, watching the steady rise and fall of his chest. She smiled, knowing Angel was human once again, and that they could finally have everything they had been longing for. She tried to get up but was stopped by Angel pulling her down.

"Where do you think your going?"

"To get dressed and then we are leaving." Buffy replied. Angel looked at her questioningly.

"Where to?"

"We are going to watch the sunrise. Then spend all day together, outside!"

"What about the others?"

"They'll just have to live without us for the day." Buffy said smiling.

"If we go down there with them, we'll never leave."

"Well, what they don't know won't hurt them." Buffy smiled conspiratorially, receiving a look from Angel she amended, "We'll leave them a note so they don't think I'm dead and you ran off and made me a child of the night. Deal?"

"Deal!"

"Good, now get ready we don't have a lot of time." Angel did as he was told. When they were ready, Buffy left a note and they slipped out the window. They went up to a hill overlooking the lake and waited for the sun to rise. When it appeared, Angel gasped at the sight. *It's so beautiful* Buffy smiled at his reaction "Beautiful isn't it?" Angel turned to her.

"Yes, but not as beautiful as you in it!" Buffy smiles and kissed him. When they broke apart, Buffy took Angel's hand and led him towards the CITY CARNIVAL.
