Singer and song writer Tunde Baiyewu was born in London. His dad was a structural engineer and he died when Tunde was about five, so Tunde moved to Nigeria. Around ten years later Tunde returned back to the UK, at fifteen he went to college in Newcastle. Gaining a degree in Accounting, Tunde has been Newcastle-based for the past twelve years. During the late eightees while working in bars in the Newcastle city centre, he began to write songs, but when no one picked up on the demos he had circulated, Tunde became disillusioned and sold his musical instruments.

Eventully Tunde met up with, now duo partner Paul Tucker. Tunde fell in love with the one song Paul had wrote, Ocean Drive. They got into the studio's and began to work together. Tunde became the vocalist of the Lighthouse Family as Paul loved his voice and Colin Barlow, Head of A&R at Polydor, knew he was a star as soon as he met him.

Tunde the laid back star at first didn't want to be a singer, as he thought he couldn't sing, but the persuation from Paul, put him in the spotlight. Tunde though is still the relaxed and friendly man he was and now he has one of the most recognisable voices in the UK's music industry.
