How to add a subtitle to a dvd with help from DVDMaestro

With this tutorial it is possible to add a subtitle to a DVD with KEEPING THE MENU:

What you need:

DVD Decrypter
Vobedit
DVD Maestro   DOWNLOAD WITH KAZAA    , CHOOSE 5 mb Version
IFOEDIT

Step 1: Rip DVD movie to hard disk with DVD Decrypter

1.Start dvd decrypter choose dvd drive
2. go to  Mode > IFO I
3. also go to Tools > Settings > IFO mode and take over settings below

Then go back to the main screen of  DVDdecrypter




4. Then youl choose ifo mode in the menu and Dvddecrypter choses the
    main movie automaticly for you (stream with longest play time)





then you click stream proccessing and  Enable Stream Processing on                             After that you click on Demux. You will get a m2v file and a big Vob file


5. As last you choose the location where you would like to save the dvd on you hard drive.     When dvd decrypter is done youll have a .m2v file and a vob file where you have your audio.

The muxing process will take around 20 minutes


Step 2 Rip audio out of vob files with vobedit

To copy the audio to the harddisk we’ll use vobedit.

1.Start Vobedit choose open and select your .vob file usually l VTS_01_1.VOB
2.click demux and choose demux  all audio streams:




3. Choose ok and your ac3 file will be on your hard drive.

Step 3 How to mux files in DVD Maestro

We will mix the m2v file and the ac3 file in DVD Maestro

1. Start DVD meastro and the following error will probably appear:




Just ignore the error !!!!!

2. Go To View > Movies > Movie 1:





3. Now youll see a new white screen. Enlarge it if you like
Now go to Right Below and press your right Mouse button on the little white screen and choose  Import media asset:




Here you open the self made m2v and you ac3 file.



When they are loaden ( could take a while ) then you can slide them to theyre right places:




Like you see you slide the m2v file to the largest one. After that you have to import the chapters which dvddecrypter has got out.

Go with your mice to the timeline above the videostream.



Press right mouse button and choose import chapterlist



Browse to the directory where you have you demuxed files and load the  chapterlist

After that putt the audio files in a logical order.





So the 0x80 audiostream is stream 1 is front row
0x81 is audio stream number 2 and goes to stream 2
0x83 is audio stream number 3 and goes to stream 3 etc etc etc.

This is very importerant because otherwise your menu won’t work

To add a subtitle to a dvd
choose at Abc Import Subtitle file:


Here youll select your self made STL file




OK your almost done, the only thing you have to do is to re-author your dvd

1.Choose in the upper of the screen for Compile:




2. Choose the destination where you will keep your .vob files.

When dvdmeastro is done you will have a dvd with you subs.!

Step 4 IFO update

Cause where gonna copy our new vob file over the original files we have to make new ifo files.

Rip the whole movie without main movie vob files (only file mode) to a new directory

Now copy the self made vob files ( only the .vob files and never the VTS_01_0.VOB file ) in your whole movie rip directory. If the main menu originally was called VTS_02_1.VOB etc then you off course have to rename your self made vob files to make them the same as the original.

Open IFO Update:



Take above settings in pulldownmenu options over




At original IFO path youll choose for ORGINELE IFO from whole dvdrip vts_01_0.ifo.
At Autherod IFO Path youll choose for SELF MADE IFO file also vts_01_0.ifo.
At Backup IFO youll choose any location you like

Now click UPDATE IFO and your new ifo’s will be made .

Just follow the instructionst.

Usually 2x OK.

After that your dvd is done , Put it in a VIDEO_TS Directory and play it with power dvd

Youll see that your subtitle will be available when you select you wanna see the English ones.

You can also use the subtitle button on your remote controller.

Ignore any errors if you get them with nero , Disc will play.

It could be ifoupdate made double files , you can delete these.
