Project: EAI system for POSCO
Team size: 30
Environment: Fiorano Tifosi, Fiorano JMS Server, Java, J2EE, JBoss

Scope of Work: Involved in the maintenance of the EAI project for 2 plants of POSCO. Involved in development of a monitoring and control tool for managing the Tifosi network without using the Tifosi management server. This requirement arose to reduce load on the management server and to provide recovery tools for the system. Involved in configuration and testing of software HA (high availability) of Tifosi Management Server. Carried out a detailed time analysis of the Tifosi Management Server startup and shutdown and suggested solution to reduce this time.

Project description: The Project is part of the POSCO Process Innovation Phase 2 EAI project. It involved integration of heterogeneous applications based on different technologies with the use of Tifosi brokered P2P communication and Fiorano Messaging Service.

Project: Framework for WinChain Manager
Team size: 10
Environment: Java, J2EE, JBoss, Struts, Oracle, Fiorano Messaging server

Scope of Work: Responsible for designing various components to build a supply chain management project. Designed JMS messaging, persistence using EJB, logging, exception handling and web tier. Designed component to integrate with remote client databases with the help of JMS and XML.

Project description: WinChain Manager is a supply chain management product being developed at Winoble for small and medium enterprises.

Software Engineer at Qwest Communications
Project: Qwest Control
Team size: 20
Environment: Java, J2EE, Struts, XML, Oracle, Weblogic

Scope of Work: Involved in development of a framework to be used in applications relying heavily on CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) functionality. Applied design patterns to the framework. Wrote test cases using JUnit. Designed and coded the PDF generation module. Wrote custom tags for front end. Coded the interface for configuration of VOIP.

Project description: Web based application to be used by the company to create quotations and contract for various telecommunications services provided by Qwest like IQ Networking, ATM, Frame Relay and VOIP. It also provides an interface for customers to configure their networking environment. The application provides for customization of features like firewall management, integrated management etc and calculates the price based on the parameters selected and the discount provided.

Project: Web based life insurance product management system for Jefferson Pilot Financial
Team size: 18

Scope of Work: Involved in development of the user interface module, coding for both server and client side including database layer. Later on involved in gap analysis and specification writing for the gaps identified. Prepared UTPs and executed Integration Test Plans in co-ordination with the quality control team. Designed and coded the server side business validations for the project.

Project description: Migration of two existing systems in AS400 and VB to a web based application using J2EE. The application is used by the Jefferson Pilot Financials employees and agents to feed proposal information for life insurance, service policies, maintain various products, their parameters and the agents involved and to generate various reports related to agents, proposal, policies, customers and products.
Prior to the project I attended a 3 months training in the company in Java, J2EE and Oracle.

SUMMARY: My experience in various Java/J2EE based projects gives me experience to develope solutions using these technologies as well as skill to quickly learn and implement new technologies. My involvement in complete lifecycle of projects gives me knowledge of requirement gathereing, design, development, testing and gap analysis of enterprise applications. I have worked in a "CMM Level 5" company(Mastek), worked with Extreme Programming and on a live critical system. My involvement in the design of framework for SCM project gives me some experience in evaluation of technologies and best practices.
