Aboriginal Healing Foundation
The AHF mission is to encourage and support Aboriginal people in building and
reinforcing sustainable healing processes that address the legacy of Physical
Abuse and Sexual Abuse in the Residential School system, including
intergenerational impacts.
Aboriginal
Justice Learning Network
The Aboriginal Justice Learning Network (AJLN) provides funding to support
Aboriginal community justice initiatives. Readers will be glad to learn that the
AJNL is composed of a team of both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, and all
selected by Elders and government officials. Mainly, this site was advantageous
for us in the search for additional resources. I was pleased to discover that in
order to promote awareness on Aboriginal justice issues, the site enables the
reader to order resources for free. For instance, for further study I have on
order Building Community Justice Partnerships: Community Peacemaking Circles, by
Judge Barry Stuart, and a VHS documentary, Donald Marshall Sr. Youth Camp, on a
camp designed for delinquent Aboriginal youth. Readers may also wish to visit
this site if they the AJLN's newsletter on current Aboriginal justice
activities, called Link, appeals to them.
Aboriginal Nurses Association of Canada
ANAC is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that was established out of
the recognition that Aboriginal people's health needs can best be met and
understood by health professionals of a similar cultural background.
Aboriginal Veterans - Canada's Warriors
Aboriginal Veterans include First Nations People, Inuit, and Metis; who have
served in the Canadian Forces or its War or Peace time Allies.
Aboriginal Youth Network
The AYN was brought about due to the social and health issues that Aboriginal
youth face due to the break down of Aboriginal Culture in Canada.
Assembly of First Nations
The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is the national representative/lobby
organization of the First Nations in Canada.
Assembly of Manitoba
Chiefs
The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) was created in 1988 by First Nations in
Manitoba to coordinate political action and technical work on common issues.
Chiefs of Ontario
The purpose of the Chiefs of Ontario office is to enable the political
leadership to discuss regional, provincial and national priorities affecting
First Nation people in Ontario and to provide a unified voice on these issues.
Congress of
Aboriginal Peoples
The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) was established to represent the
interests nationally of Métis and non-status Indians.

Equay-wuk
Equay-wuk (Women’s Group) is an Aboriginal women’s organization serving women,
youth, and families who reside within Northwestern Ontario First Nation
communities. It is a non-profit, provincially incorporated (1989) organization
serving Aboriginal people from 30 First Nation communities in Northwestern
Ontario.
Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations
The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations remains committed to honouring the
spirit and intent of the treaties and to breathing life into the solemn treaty
promises.
Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami
Since its establishment in 1971, ITC as the national voice for the Inuit of
Canada has broadened its aims and objectives in response to the changing social,
economic and political challenges facing Inuit.
Métis
National Council
The Métis National Council is the national organization of the Métis Nation in
Canada. The Métis National Council was established in 1983, following
recognition of the Métis as a distinct people with Aboriginal rights in the
Constitution Act, 1982.
National Association of Friendship Centres
The National Association of Friendship Centres purpose is to improve the quality
of life for aboriginal peoples in an urban environment by supporting
self-determined activities which encourage equal access to, and participation
in, Canadian society.

Inuit Youth Council
The National Inuit Youth Council (NIYC) was formed in 1994, at the first-ever
National Inuit Youth Summit, held in Kuujjuaq, Quebec. The council, which is
made up of representatives from each of the six Inuit regions of Canada,
represents Inuit youth under the age of 30.
Native Alliance of Quebec
The Native Alliance of Quebec is an association which is comprised of people of
aboriginal descent who currently reside in the Province of Quebec and whose
aboriginal ancestry is in large part unrecognized by the Indian Act of Canada.
Native Canadian Centre of Toronto
Over the years, the Centre has provided services of a social, recreational,
cultural and spiritual nature. With more than 60,000 people of Native ancestry
living and working in the greater Toronto area, the Centre is a focal point for
services.
Native Women's Association of Canada
The Native Women's Association of Canada (NWAC) is founded on the collective
goal to enhance, promote, and foster the social, economic, cultural and
political well-being of First Nations and Métis women with First Nation and
Canadian societies.

Pauktuutit
- Inuit Women's Association
Pauktuutit is the national non-profit association representing all Inuit women
in Canada. Its mandate is to foster a greater awareness of the needs of Inuit
women, and to encourage their participation in community, regional and national
concerns in relation to social, cultural and economic development.

Aboriginal Educational Resources Database
The Indigenous Education Network at the Ontario Institute for Studies in
Education of the University of Toronto houses this resource database that is
currently focused on post-secondary education at Canadian institutions.
First Nations SchoolNet
Access unique First Nations learning resources in English, Cree and Syllabics,
browse through cultural collections, and network with other First Nations
schools and communities - all through First Nations SchoolNet.
Native Access to
Engineering Programme
Established in 1993 by the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at
Concordia and l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, the NAEP looks at ways to
address the low participation rate of Aboriginal people within the applied
sciences in Canada.

Community College
The mission of the Red Crow Board of Governors is to provide quality educational
training opportunities to adult Indian and non-Indian residents and employees of
the Blood Reserve and surrounding areas.
Saskatchewan Indian Federated College
The SIFC is a First Nations controlled university-college, which provides
educational opportunities to both First Nations, and non-First Nations' students
selected from a provincial, national, and international base.

Arctic Youth (SAY)
Arctic Canada is home to the youngest population in Canada. It's SAY's goal to
provide youth with information on educational and career strategies using
Internet communication tools.

Aboriginal Government Employees' Network
The AGEN tries to accrue participation in a representative Saskatchewan
Government workforce that is achieved through the bridging of cultures and the
sharing of a common journey.

Hearts of the Nations
