The Lao Student Association of Victoria (LSAV) was officially formed on the 28th of February 1998 by a group of Lao Students studying in Victoria, Australia. It was then officially accepted and acknowledged by the Embassy of the Lao P.D.R in Canberra.

    In the first annual conference of the Lao students in Australia held at the Lao Embassy in Canberra on 27/12/1998, official rules for all Lao student associations in Australia were established so that all of those associations of Lao students have the same structure of rules in common.

Aims:

• To provide convenience for the members in getting in touch with each other.
• To promote our country, LAOS, along with its tradition, culture and values.
• To exchange knowledge and experience within members and also other foreign students in occasions such as multicultural activities.
• To provide convenience for Lao Students in Victoria or members to get in touch with the Lao Embassy in Canberra.
