Law of Conservation of Energy:
Introduction: In this lab we attempt to prove the law of conservation of energy, which states that as energy changes from one form to another it is not destroyed. However energy may be lost through other mediums.

Discussion:
One of the fundamental laws in physics is that of the conservation of energy. When an object is dropped from a certain height, it can't rebound upwards to a greater height than its starting position.
Throughout the lab the added values for the three energies was equal to the total amount of energy in the system (7 Joules).
The theory of conservation of energy states that energy is neither destroyed nor created. This is proven in our lab as the total energy remains constant throughout the lab.
Sources of error in our lab were numerous:
a) motion sensor and other technical equipment may have been inaccurate
b) alignment with the mass was not correct for our motion sensor
c) our force probe may not have picked up the data correctly because the setup wasn't correct.
