Andy DUfresne is a rich banker who gets pinned with being a murderer for a murder he didn't commit.
He ends up in a federal penetentiary serving a life sentence. No one notices him at first really,
except for Red (Morgan Freeman), and a few of the prisons homosexual group. He goes about his business,
until the violent group of homosexuals will settle for nothing than what they want. Andy lives day to
day, and survives by some inner strength and will to live.  Life goes on, and Andy befriends Red,
the prison Sears and Roebuck. The Shawshank Redemption is nothing short of an extraodinary tale of surivival.
Simple, sometimes, but extraordinary.

At a long running time of 142 minutes you will hope it never ends. Chararcter development is nothing
short of amazing, and Robbins shows he has more depth than previous outings let him, with the exception of The Hudsucker Proxy. If you haven't
seen it, your missing something.
