What is Circle K International?
|
Circle K is an international service organization affiliated with Kiwanis International. The word 'international is appropriate, since CKI spans seven countries, and includes over 10,000 members to date. CKI's mission is to provide a medium for friendship and service to the campus and community. Circle K has three tenets: Service, Leadership, and Fellowship.
|
Our Pledge:
I pledge to uphold the object of Circle K International, to foster compassion and goodwill toward others through service and leadership, to develop my abilities and the abilities of all people, and to dedicate myself to the realization of mankind's potential.
When are the meetings?
Our meetings are open to anyone interested about us. Going to meetings is the best way to learn about CKI. Our meetings are generally (but not always) held in Stewart Center at various rooms on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. Please contact a member or officer to find out which specific room as it varies week to week.
What will CKI do for me?
A rather common question, CKI is an organization that places a large emphasis on service, that has the byproduct of fellowship. Those in CKI have common interests that provide a common bond that is a basis for standing friendship between all members. Many opportunities for student, and professional life can be found in CKI, due to the diverse background of the members, of not only CKI, but the Kiwanis (Our sponsors, think of it as CKI for those who moved on from college.) But perhaps the most important part, is the plain satisfaction from a job well done.
I want to do stuff, but I can't make it to the meetings!
That is what this web page is for, here you can find a general summary of the events that will be happening in the club.
How do I become a Member?
It is very easy to join Circle K here at Purdue University. Simply come to one of our meetings. Talk to an officer or a member and after that, all you have to do is pay your dues. Dues are $13 for the year. (After April, they become $6.50 for the remainder of the year.) And that's it! You're a member.
