It took me a long, long time to come to this conclusion. For so long, I have lived in an imaginary world, thinking that I was in control and was loved by all. Unfortunately, I was not such a nice person. Instead, I was becoming so many of those things that I hated in other people. I would always deride others and criticize them for not being balanced, placing unimportant things such as work, over friends and family. Before, I told myself that my family and friends are the most important things, but my friends made me realize that this was not the case. They shouted things such as "What the hell are you doing? Don't you realize you are being such a moron? Jeez, lighten up, or when you do make time to be nice and successful, I won't be there!"
What I realized in my Log of Life was that all those daily activities, which keep me preoccupied for much of the day, don't really matter that much. What really matters and gives me happiness in this world are only a few things.
