The book The Great Gatsby written by author Scott Fitzgerald. This book showed an observation of the "American Dream." The dread of going from rags to riches.

This book showed me how the American dream does not always seem to be what it really is. Such as Nick himself begins to realize when starting to have conversations with these wealthy people. He himself notes how corrupt they truely are and he wants nothing to do with them. Especially after Gatsby is killed, because Tom convinced George that Gatsby killed his wife. Then there are just so many affairs going on. Tom with George's wife, Gatsby and Daisy, Jordan and whoever she is seeing behind Nicks back near the end of the book.

This book showed me how just having money isn't the key to life. That it also matters how you make the money. You can't just be like Gatsby, you have to make money in an honest and legit way. Instead of just making money in scams or from gambling. All of which can get you into some trouble. I know that I myself would like to become rich, but it is better to keep just what you need and then give the rest away to the needy. That way you don't just improve your own life, but you also improve others.

In my own mind i believe that this book shows what you should not get involved in. Then what you should not do in life just to make money. Also that money in a whole can not always make you achieve what you want to in life.
