Gilligans Log Saturday 24-May-2003 Day 7 - South Molle > Hamilton Island Marina Night 6 - No night 6 :-( Minnow I managed to beat Minnow II off the starting blocks again, but we all had to leave early to get back to Hamilton Island Marina by 10am. Time is a relative thing in that area and anywhere between 10:00 and 11:30 is 10am in "Island Time". We cleaned the boat while we travelled, as it was $150 for SunSail to do it. We ate as much as possible on the way but still had to throw away a lot of food. Suz made a concerted effort to finish her second bottle of gin. While cleaning the boat, we found alcohol stashed in every nook and cranny the final tally of left overs was: Minnow I: 2 red, 1 white, 5 beers Minnow II: 6 red, 3 white, 12 XXXX (told you no one liked it) Total: 8 red, 4 white, 17 beers Starting: 42 red, 42 white, 204 beers In addition there was AT LEAST 6 Baileys, 6 Butterscotch schnapps, 4 champagne, 1 Bundy, 2 gin, 2 Pimms, 1 Southern. Therefore member of the crew drank 5.5 bottles of wine and 14.5 beers for the trip. The crew from both yachts are very unwell, all suffering from BARS (Beer and Alcohol Requirement Syndrome. Sal discovered a new phenomenon on the trip called "Memory Pool". This is where after going for a swim in the morning, your memory kicks into gear and you start remembering all the really stupid things you did the night before. Kirsten was the first to go at 11:30, she had a party to prepare for. Suz, Sally, Alison and Thomas left at 12:45 had an uneventful trip except for some snoring on the plane. Alan and Chelsea (finally separated from Thomas) left at 1:35. Roofi left at 4pm after hanging out with Andy, Pat, Brocky and Shena, sipping Mai Thais and Bloody Marys by a resort pool. The 6 eighteen-year-old girls that sat with us was a welcome distraction too. Actually there was a night 6 for Shena, Andy, Pat and Brocky. They stayed an extra night on Hamilton. They popped 5 bottles of red, raided a Nu Skin convention, got thrown out and survived a cockatoo attack. The cockatoos bit a hole in a screen and when Pat came to check on the sleeping (passed out) Brocky and Andy, there were 5 cockatoos in the room with them. All but one of them left quietly. The last one tried to stare down Captain Quint, but in the end was no match. Andy, Pat and Brocky look very nice with their toes painted. In other news, Tennille was last seen heading north. Stop Press: Monday night, Roofi finally sleeps a whole night in his own bed.
